BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM

WINS CLIFFHANGER Our boys’ basketball team continued on their winning way

with a last second win against Kooringal PS last Friday. The

boys started slowly and were behind 13 to 6 at quarter time. At half time Kooringal had extended their lead and Franklin

was trailing by 20 points to 6. The third quarter was the

turning point for the game, with Franklin piling on 16 points and changing the momentum of the game. The scores were

locked 28 all at three quarter time. The final quarter was a

close tussle as the teams swapped the lead. With two seconds to play and Kooringal ahead by one point, the ball was passed

to Shay Thomas who scored the winning basket to give

Franklin a 39 to 38 win. Congratulations to Jack O’Malley,

Josh Kell, Shay Thomas, Will King, Lachlan Piper, Michael Vaughan, Craig Johnson and Ethan Dutton for showing a

great fighting spirit, never giving up and being triumphant in

the end. The boys’ team now take on Narrandera PS to decide who will be Riverina region winners. We would like to thank

Jason Beavan for refereeing the game, Mrs Armstrong for

coaching the team and the parents who provided transport and cheered the boys on.

they are happy, scared or angry and how to respond to

these types of dogs. For more information about the

program, please visit the Responsible Pet Ownership website at http://www.pets.nsw.gov.au/
