Manufacturing
ISO 9002 quality product is what our customers receive when
they purchase Delta Composites molded and pultruded gratings,
DeltaGrate HS (High Strength) and DeltaSpan, respectively. All of
our fiberglass structural products are manufactured in a world
class manufacturing facility to the same high standard of
excellence. Our products incorporate only the highest quality resins and glass and other
proprietary manufacturing techniques. For example, let's take our DeltaGrate HS Molded
Grating product. This product incorporates proprietary manufacturing techniques allowing
for more glass content to be achieved, greatly enhancing the stiffness of the grating panel.
Compare the stiffness of DeltaGrate to other manufacturer's molded gratings, and the
difference is obvious. Delta's gratings and other structural fiberglass products are offered
in a variety of specially formulated resins meeting our customer’s specific service
environments.

Engineering & In-house Capabilities
Delta Composites' engineering and drafting capabilities are
unsurpassed in the structural fiberglass industry. Delta has
developed a 3-dimensional, structural finite-element analysis
computer design program, incorporating the industry-accepted
fiberglass allowable stress design formulas. Delta's structural
engineers can perform 3-D structural analysis of any fiberglass
structure, steel structure or concrete structure. With this
modification to incorporate the structural fiberglass equations,
to our knowledge, Delta Composites is the only structural
fiberglass engineering consultant/fabricator in the world to have
such an engineering tool. This structural design program
performs stress and deflection calculations, plots of deflections,
forces, stresses, reactions, etc., as well as resizing over-stressed
fiberglass members. Delta Composites is committed to
producing the most optimum structural design for all of its engineered systems.
Our in-house customer service personnel are product knowledgeable, customer friendly,
and there to assist our customer, with quotations, technical responses, project status
reports, and other questions they may have.

PullMoldedTM Grating Conventional pultruded gratings supplied by all other manufacturers, including our
DeltaSpanTM, requires holes to be drilled in the longitudinal bearing bars to permit the
insertion of the locking tie-bars. Delta Composites has a patent pending design of a
pultruded grating which is assembled without drilling holes in the bearing bars to allow for
the tie-bar system. Question: From a structural engineering standpoint, what happens
when a hole is drilled in a beam? Answer: Shear area and moment of inertia are lost, and
possible corrosion cells are generated if the holes are not properly sealed, resulting in a
loss of strength and possible corrosion degradation. With our new patent pending design,
no holes are drilled, thus no shear area is lost, no moment of inertia is lost and a stronger
and more corrosion resistant pultruded grating is achieved.
Delta Fiberglass Structural Products
Molded Grating In an independent and unbiased study by the University of Mississippi,
performed to measure the stiffness of the various molded grating products
available in the marketplace, DeltaGrateTM HS
Molded Grating (High Strength) finished in first
place, ahead of all other open top molded grating
manufacturers. This first place ranking is the direct result
of the ISO 9002 manufacturing process and other proprietary
manufacturing techniques which provide for an average
glass content of 38-40% by weight, far exceeding the
competition which averages around 28-32% glass content
by weight.

Ladder SystemsDelta Composites has engineered and offers two
basic ladder systems. Our Standard Fiberglass
Ladder offers the necessary rigidity and safety when
structural stand-off supports are capable of being
provided at regular and close intervals. However, in
some cases, stand-off supports can not be provided
at regular intervals, thus requiring the ladder to span
much longer distances. In order to comply with OSHA
standards for ladder safety and design, Delta offers
our Stiffened Ladder to meet these needs. All Delta
Ladders are designed for ease of fabrication and
installation, while offering the maximum in corrosion resistance. Of course, all ladder
systems are equipped with safety cages when required.
Handrails SystemsHandrails systems are offered in one of four system designs by
Delta Composites. Delta Composites manufactures our Heavy
Duty Handrail System, our Standard Duty Handrail System, our
Light Duty Handrail System, and our Offshore "Wave-Zone"
Handrail System. All systems exceed OSHA requirements for
handrail systems. While some provide much stronger resistance
to loading conditions, all of Delta's handrail systems offer
corrosion resistant and maintenance free service at a competitive
price. Choose from one of these Delta handrail systems,
depending upon the severity of the service environment. All Delta Ladders are
designed for ease of
fabrication and installation,
while offering the maximum
in corrosion resistance.
All systems exceed OSHA
requirements for handrail
systems.
Structural ShapesDelta Composites offers a wide range of fiberglass structural shapes, marketed
as DeltaShapesTM. These fiberglass shapes are offered in isophthalic
polyester resins and vinyl ester resins, but can also be provided in acrylics
and phenolics. Wide flanged beams, I-beams, angles, channels, square and
round tubes, solid shapes, custom shapes, threaded rod, nuts, and other
FRP products are provided as a complete and comprehensive alternative to
conventional steel, wood and aluminum construction. Because DeltaShapesTM
are lightweight, electrically and thermally non-conductive, and corrosion
resistant, they are fast becoming the construction material of choice in many
applications.

Stair TreadsDelta Composites' molded DeltaTreadTM panels provide a safe
and cost effective alternative to conventional steel stair treads.
With a solid and gritted nosing, the DeltaTreadTM stair tread is
corrosion resistant, slip resistant, and due to the mold design,
is much stronger than other fiberglass stair treads. Fabricated
molded square mesh treads and pultruded stair treads are also
available.
Stair Tread CoverDelta Composites manufactures fiberglass stair tread covers to be installed typically over
existing steel stair treads. For use as a safety product, these fiberglass stair tread covers
provide an efficient and cost effective solution to slippery and unsafe stairways. Delta
can also manufacture fluorescent stair tread covers, increasing nighttime visibility and
safety.

Molded Plate Delta Composites currently offers two types of molded and skid-resistant molded plates.
Our gritted plate, known as DeltaPlateTM, and our checkered-type non-skid plate, known
as DeltaCheckTM, are provided in a variety of thicknesses and resin systems. Intended for
use over an existing frame in an after-market application, or for incorporation into a new
structural system requiring solid plating, DeltaPlateTM and DeltaCheckTM offer the same
structural service as conventional steel plate without the corrosion and at about 1/3rd
the weight. Looking at an odor control application in a waste water treatment plant or at
an oil and gas related drilling mud-pit application, DeltaPlateTM and DeltaCheckTM
products provide the structural and safety integrity our customers require.
Covered Plate Grating Delta Composites bonds our DeltaPlateTM or DeltaCheckTM to the top of our molded and
pultruded gratings to create a solid walking surface with 25%-35% higher stiffness. These
products are known as Covered DeltaGrateTM and Covered DeltaSpanTM. Both are available
with gritted, checkered, or smooth surfaces. The standard plate thickness is 1/8";
however, plates of varying thicknesses are available by custom order.
Other ProductsDelta Composites product offering does not stop here. We supply:
• Circular banded grating
• DeltaScreenTM grating panels
• Delta Mini-meshTM grating
• Grating fasteners

Fabrication and Installation Services
Delta Composites' staff of experienced engineers, drafters,
project managers, fabrication specialists and installation
technicians allow us the opportunity to provide to our customer,
full and complete turn-key services — design, fabrication and
installation services.
Our engineers are equipped with the state-of-the-art structural
design software. Our experienced staff of fabricators and
installers produce professional, on-time fiberglass installations.
Our engineering staff possesses an average of 20 years design
experience. Our staff has successfully completed over 8,000
projects, justifying our customers trust in our ability to service
your needs. Delta Composites is the "measuring stick" by which
other fiberglass companies monitor their progress.
It is typically true that steel structural components are less expensive at the initial cost
stage; however, Delta's fiberglass alternatives prove to be the most economical option
over the long term. In general, the cost of maintaining the steel structural system,
coupled with the initial installation and material costs, far exceeds the cost of the
fiberglass system.
Delta's fiberglass structures and systems are lighter in weight and are more easily
installed than its comparable steel counterparts. Studies reflect that a fiberglass
structure will weigh typically half the weight of the steel system, and will perform to
the same “load — response” criteria.
