Fiberglass is a superior material for your product.

The unique properties of pultruded

fiberglass will enable better performance

for your product.

Benefits of using Razor’s Pultruded Fiberglass

Design FlexibilityFiberglass can be designed and fabricated into almost any

shape to meet the designs and performance demands by

our customers.

Strength and DurabilityFiberglass has an extremely high strength to weight ratio,

which enables your product to weigh less and perform

better.

Razor’s Pultruded Fiberglass is highly resistant to corrosion,

allowing it to stand up to acid rain, humidity and coastal

environments, and oxidation/rust.

Thermal PerformanceFiberglass has a very low rate of thermal conductivity making

it a great material to improve the thermal performance of

your product.

Fiberglass’ resistance to expansion and contraction in hot

and cold climatic conditions will help ensure the integrity of

your product and its performance.

Cutting Edge Pultrusion Capabilities

Razor Composites has a proven track record of designing and producing highly

complex fiberglass profiles and cost-effective commodity shapes to compete with

overseas producers.

DesignThe Razor design team can create the

right profile for your needs. We marry

the unique attributes of fiberglass

with manufacturability - driven-design

to create value for you and your

customers.

PultrudeRazor Composites has developed a

manufacturing process for producing

a smooth, high quality finish that many

believe is the best available in the

industry.

FabricateOur fabrication department can

perform machining and assembly

functions, often on-line, to save

our customers the time and cost

associated with secondary operations.

Fiberglass Tubes & Tool Handles

Our engineering expertise allows us to create unique, high quality tool handles to

separate your product from the competition.

Tubes & Handle Pultruder of Choice• Razor supplies unique designs & properties in the manufacturing

of its pultruded tube & tool handles.

• Engineers are utilized to meet the requirements & solve the issues

that customers can’t find with other pultruders.

• Many different sizes, finishes, colors, etc.

• Razor’s ability + fiberglass’s attribute make for the ideal tube or

tool handle.

Engineering SupportOur engineers can support your design team by assisting or leading

the process to a pultrusion friendly design & product.

Surface• Razor has developed a process for

producing a smooth, high quality

finish, in almost any color that many

believe is the best available in the

industry. Specialty veils can be

used to add a unique appearance

to your product.

Length• Standard length tolerance is ±

.125”. Tighter tolerances are

possible to meet customers’ needs.

Bow or Camber• .030” per foot is standard,

although tighter tolerances to meet

customers’ needs are possible.

Cutting Edge Pultrusions

Pultrusion ProcessRazor Composites’ pultrusion process consists of

impregnating reinforcements with a thermosetting resin

system. The reinforcements typically consist of fiberglass,

carbon fiber, aramid fiber or mixtures of the three. When used

in a uni-directional manner, these materials provide stiffness

to the composite. These materials can also be manufactured

in a matting material that could be included into the

composite to provide off-axis properties, which would

increase crush, burst strength and increase holding power

to fasteners. Surfacing veils can also be added to provide a

smoother surface if the product requires handling.

Typically, the reinforcements are wet-out in a resin bath

before entering a guiding system that gradually shapes

the material prior to entering the die. This formed package

then enters into a heated die that triggers the thermosetting

resin reaction, resulting in a cured product as it exits the die.

Throughout this process the “pultruder” is continually pulling

the cured product through the die and into a saw that cuts the

product to length.
