    Metro TransitSystem

    Metro System is rapid transit in which there

    are trains for carrying people in minimum

    time. Metro systems are referred to assubways or undergrounds, metropolitan

    railway, elevated railway. Tracks are built

    usually underground in the central region of

    the city and as they spread out they are

    elevated tracks.

    Project Specifications

    The buses will travel a distance of 27 )ilometerscorridor being constructed from *a++umatta to

    Shahdara.

    &ccording to officials, buses have been dispatched by

    the manufacturing company olvo -hina to akistan. The

    fleet costs over Rs1.260 biion whereas each bus costsRs28 million.

    /ach bus is 01 meters long and is

    right hand drive.

    The metro route will have 23 stations, of that 01 are

    near completion. The work on the remaining nine stations

    was being carried out on a fast track and would be completed

    in a fortnight.

    The corridor includes 1km overhead bridge from

    Muslim Town Morr to Te4ali. the overhead5s portions

    are still under various construction phases such as piling,

    shuttering and concrete and earth filling, adding that the bridge

    Would be completed by mid 6ecember.

    entire route of the bus service and the bus stations. 7e

    said the latest closed$circuit television cameras would

    be installed along the route and monitored in thecontrol room, while strict security arrangements would

    be made for the stations.

    continuously, and all related aspects will be reviewed,

    while making security arrangements.
