Youth Outreach Report – 2015 Stand True Pro-life Outreach (www.StandTrue.com) is the Youth Outreach of Priests for Life. The founder and director of Stand True is Bryan Kemper, who travels the nation and the world mobilizing youth to stand up for the unborn and providing them cutting edge resources to do so. As one of the standard messages of Stand True declares, “This is the Generation that will Abolish Abortion”. The report below provides a glimpse into some of the day by day activities of our Youth Outreach. Silent Day – Each year, in mid-October, Stand True sponsors the “Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity,” on which thousands of students express their opposition to abortion and their solidarity with its silent victims by spending the whole day without saying a word. Pro-life T-Shirt Day – Stand True promotes a national pro-life t-shirt day by which countless people spread the pro-life message by what they wear. Summer Intern Program – Each summer, Stand True brings a core of volunteer interns on a whirlwind immersion into the pro-life movement, with exposure to many of its key leaders and conferences, and an opportunity to engage in activism of various types to fight abortion. Social Media Outreach – Stand True leads the way in utilizing social media to reach, encourage, and mobilize the youngest generation of pro-life activists, as well as many others who have been in the movement longer. Stand True helps to train other pro-life leaders and groups on how to use the power of social media to help the cause of life. Abortion Mill Protests – Stand True witnesses at abortion mills around the nation, and helps others to learn how to do the same. Youth Conferences – Stand True brings the pro-life message and resources to pro-life youth conferences and other pro-life conferences and rallies around the world. Stand True also runs the official youth rally each year at the National March for Life in Washington, DC. Christian Concerts – Stand True develops relationships with Christian artists and brings the pro-life message and resources to concerts and music fairs.    

  Some Daily Activities – Design and develop pro-life graphics for Stand True and other branches of PFL as well as other pro-life groups. Run Social Media Campaigns for Stand True and other PFL branches using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, Periscope and more. This includes compiling a library of Social Media tools for projects like Shockwaves. Write articles and blogs for Stand True’s project “Modesty Honors Beauty” Design, develop and run store for a collection of pro-life t-shirts, stickers, buttons, patches, posters, wristbands and more. Run online store and shipping of these resources  

Summer Internship Program  

   Who: We want motivated young pro-life people between the ages of 18-28 When: The Summer internship starts around June 1 and ends around August 15 but we welcome people to come earlier if possible. We attend events like the National Right to Life Conference in Washington DC, Soulfest in New Hampshire and many more events. We will also spend a day in NYC and visit the Priests for Life national headquarters in Staten Island. Where: We are located in Troy, OH which is near Dayton. We have a missionary apartment that is connected to the office for girls and a private room in the office with a bathroom for guys. What: The internship will include a wide variety of pro-life training, work, prayer and activism as well as traveling to pro-life events. A few of the duties: Social Media: Interns will spend time every day building, maintaining and developing the social media outreach for Stand True and Priests for Life. This includes Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram and many more. Interns will be helping in building our social media library on the Stand True web site.

   

  Summer Festivals and Events: Interns will traveling with Stand True to several summer events to work the booth, give talks and educate people on pro-life issues. Activism: Interns will go to the abortion clinic for prayer and sidewalk counseling at least once a week. Interns will take part in some local and national pro-life events and activism such as the National Right to Life Conference in Washington DC  Office work: Interns will help run the daily needs of the Stand True office like mail, order fulfillment, cleaning, banking, filing, proof reading and other needs around the office.

Pro-life Training: Interns will be studying pro-life issues and apologetics. Interns will write articles, give talks and learn how to argue the pro-life position. We provide housing and basic food as well as travel costs when you travel with Stand True for events like the National Right to Life Convention. You will be expected to help fundraise towards the missionary program but there is no set cost to come. A Look at Our Activities Month by Month: 2015 January

 Stand True co-sponsored the National Day of Remembrance event in Dayton, OH Stand True had a booth and spent several days doing outreach at the World Meeting of Families in PA Stand True released the Defund, Shutdown, Prosecute Coalition Shirt. Bryan traveled to Michigan to speak at a Pregnancy Center banquet and at a Catholic School October  

  

Bryan took two months off of traveling outside of Dayton Area to spend time with his family. Stand True ran the 11th Annual Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity Stand True participated in the local Life Chain in Troy, OH Stand True co-hosted second Protest PP Event in Dayton November Stand True protested a major pro-abortion rally in Dayton, OH December Much of December was spent on planning for the March for Life and Walk for Life as well as year-end work.
