The XpressVIP 4.5 (Vehicle Interface Program) application is used to:
Detect the firmware you already have installed on your computer and offer a list of available updates.
Search the vehicle database and offer a list of solutions available for that particular vehicle.
Install and flash firmware onto your hardware.
This guide is specifically designed the help you troubleshoot issues you may encounter while installing one or both
versions of the XpressVIP4.5 application. Issues may be related to a miscommunication between devices or with the
Internet, a software programming error, and/or a hardware malfunction.
It is assumed that XpressVIP4.5 is already installed on the computer. Refer to the Installation Instructions on page 18,
if you need more information.

Minimum hardware and software requirements
XKLOADER2 is required to detect DB-ALL and CANMAX400. For older modules XKLOADER1 is sufficient.
The following operating systems are supported (all 32-bit and 64-bit versions, where applicable):
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3 or above)
Windows Vista
Windows 7
Windows 8
The following browser is supported (all 32-bit and 64-bit versions, where applicable):
Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 (not supported on “Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)”)
The recommended basic hardware requirements to run XpressVIP4.5 are:
Processor: Pentium III 1 GHz or higher
RAM: at least 1 GB
XpressVIP4.5 requires .NET Framework 4.0 or later to be installed on your computer. This will be installed
automatically during the XpressVIP4.5 installation.

Troubleshooting your system
Problem: The www.xpresskit.com web site does not fit on my small screen
Try this solution:
1) Go to www.xpresskit.com
2) In Internet Explorer 8 and above press CTRL key and at the same time press the Minus key. This will cause the display to shrink

Problem: The module I have is not detected
Try this solution:
If your module is one of the following:
DLPK, DLPKGM, KIBMW, KILRV, PKALL, CHALL, 9252 or CHRSALL
Then it is an Optimax product and you need to click “To Flash OPTIMAX products click HERE”
Try this other solution:
If your module is one of the following:
DB-ALL, CANMAX400
Then you need to use an XKLOADER2. See on the right how to tell if it is an XKLOADER2

Problem: The module I have is not detected (continued)
Try this other solution:
1. Click Start.
2. Click Run and in the popup window type: devmgmt.msc.
3. Expand Ports (COM & LPT).
4. Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
5. XKLOADER is connected and functioning if the following instance exist: Ports (COM & LPT) – CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller (COM).
6. If a yellow exclamation mark exists on the icon then right-click on it and do update driver.
7. If the entry does not exist then verify that your XKLOADER is connected or try another USB port.
Try this other solution:
1. Click Start.
2. Control Panel.
3. Programs and Features (in Windows Vista/7) OR Add/Remove programs (in Windows XP).
4. Find and remove “CP2101..Driver Set” AND “CP2102..Driver Set” since those drivers may be conflicting with the required XKLOADER2 drivers.

Try this solution:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools in the menu.
3. Click Internet Options.
4. Click the Security tab.
5. Select Trusted Sites.
6. Click the Sites button.
7. Confirm that http://www.xpresskit.com is in the trusted web site list. If it is not in the list continue to 8.
8. Deselect “Require server verification.”
9. Type in http://www.xpresskit.com and click Add button.

The problem here is that you are running “Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)” which does not support the XpressVIP4.5 Add-on. So you would need to run “Internet Explorer”.
1. Start. 2. Do one of the following operation depending on your operating system:
a) In Windows Vista or Windows 7 search for “Internet Explorer” and click “Internet Explorer”. b) In Windows XP find “Internet Explorer”.

Are you seeing the ActiveX Filtering checked under Tools menu?
Try this solution:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click (Filter button).
3. Click “Turn off ActiveX Filtering”.

1. Open Internet Explorer.

4. Right-click the file you saved

Problem: XpressVIP4.5 successfully installs but it does not ask if I allow to run the add-on
Try this solution:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools in the menu.
3. Click Internet Options.
4. Click the Security Tab.
5. Select the Internet zone and click Custom level.
6. Scroll down to ActiveX controls and plug-ins and change the settings.
7. Click Prompt for Download signed ActiveX controls.
8. Close window and refresh web site, you should see a yellow bar asking if you allow to run the add-on. Click Allow.

Problem: XpressVIP4.5 starts to install but then does not show “Successfully Installed”
Try this solution:
Check or ask your System Administrator if you have access to the install software. If you do not, ask the System Administrator to install the software.
Try this other solution:
1. Click the XpressVIP4.5 installation link.
2. Click Save As.
3. Save to your desktop.
4. Right-click the file you saved and click “Run as administrator”.
Try this other solution:
1. Click the XpressVIP4.5 installation link.
2. Click the Save button to save the XpressVIP4.5...exe file to your desktop.
3. Close the web site.
4. Right-click the file you saved and from the contextual menu, select Run as Administrator.
Problem: The search year/make/model dropdown boxes are empty
Try this solution:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools in the menu.
3. Click Internet Options.
4. Click the Security tab.
5. Select Internet.
6. Click the Custom level button.
7. Scroll to Scripting/Active scripting. If the option is disabled, enable it by clicking on the corresponding radio button.

Problem: I cannot do a vehicle search because the year/make/model boxes are empty
Try this solution:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools in the menu.
3. Click Internet Options.
4. Click the Security tab.
5. Select Internet (world icon).
6. Click the Custom Level button.
7. Scroll to Scripting/Active scripting.
If it is disabled, enable it by clicking on the corresponding radio button
Problem: www.xpresskit.com keeps asking me to select a country
Try this solution:
Verify your system date/time is correct.
Note that having the wrong system date can affect the cookies that the web site uses and cause the country selection box to keep coming up.

Problem: I cannot detect my module in Google Chrome
Try this solution:
1. Open Google Chrome.
2. Open https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fnfnbeppfinmnjnjhedifcfllpcfgeea (or go to www.google.com and search for “IE Tab Multi”) and click Add to Chrome.. Install.
3. In IE Tab Multi (see right). Select Enable this feature, type *xpresskit* and click Save(Alt+F1).
4. Open a new tab and go to http://www.xpresskit.com.
Problem: I get the message “To detect module use Internet Explorer” but I am using internet
explorer

Try this solution:
1. Control Panel.
2. Programs And Features (or Add/Remove Programs)
3. Find “Google Chrome Frame” listed in your program list. If you find it and do not need it then uninstall it. Google Chrome Frame will prevent the module detection from working since it does not work on Chrome or Chrome plugins in Internet Explorer. Note that you do not need to uninstall Chrome itself.
4. Close and reopen the browser.

Problem: Windows 8: I installed XpressVIP4.5 but it keeps asking to install it
Try this solution:
1. Click Desktop button
2. Click the internet explorer button at the bottom left of the screen
Note: By clicking internet explorer directly in
the Windows 8 interface it will open the “Metro-
Style” internet explorer browser which doesn’t
support XpressVIP4.5 (add-on)

Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Do I need to uninstall old versions or drivers of XpressVIP before installing XpressVIP4.5?
Answer: No
Question: Do I need XpressVIP4.5 to work with DB-ALL?
Answer: It is recommended to use XpressVIP4.5 for DB-ALL because it supports the configuration of features and
options, which cannot be done with previous versions.
Question: Do I need an XKLOADER2 to work with DB-ALL?
Answer: Yes
Question: Does XpressVIP4.5 support Firefox and/or Google Chrome?
Answer: No, XpressVIP4.5 only supports Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8 and 9. Also note that some plugins (add-ons) for
Internet Explorer may prevent it from detecting the module, like “Google Chrome Frame”.

Installation Instructions
1. Go to www.xpresskit.com.
2. Hover over the DOWNLOADS menu.
3. Click Xpress VIP 4.5.
4. Click Download button on the page
5. Click the Save as button at the bottom that shows up in the yellow bar.

6. Click Desktop, then Save.
7. Go to your desktop, left-click and select Run as Administrator. Note that you may need the assistance of your
system administrator to complete the installation if you do not have the proper user access rights.

8. Click the Install button.
