The Happy Child
Dear Parents
Motivate your child to listen to the poem “The Happy Child”. Encourage him/her to work independently and speak about their surrounding in English or in home language. Encourage your child to practice pre-writing skills. Provide a note book for your child to scribble, draw, colour and practice writing. Provide positive feedback. Help him/her when needed.

Learning Outcomes: After completing this lesson, the child will be able to:
o associate words with pictures,
o name familiar objects seen in the pictures,
o recognize letters and their sounds A-Z,
o differentiate between small and capital letters in print/Braille,
o draw/ scribble in response to the worksheets,
o respond orally (in any language including sign language) to
comprehension questions related to poems,
o carry out simple instructions,
o recite the poem with proper pronunciation and expression.
Activities:
1. Observe different houses in your surrounding and describe them to your
parents. (Parents to note the responses of the child)
2. Recite the poem “The Happy Child”. May take the help of your parents or
elder sibling.

Three Little Goats
Dear Parents
Motivate the child to listen to sounds of animals and imitate them. Help them to read
the story and encourage your child to act out the story “The Little Goats” with the
family members. Child could use mother tongue. You could narrate your child’s
favourite story. Let the child express through art and craft as well. Motivate the child
to work independently as far as possible.
