2013 PARINGANV MOSCATO

Grape Variety: Moscato 100%Case Production: 500 casesBottle Size: 750ml StelvinRegion: South Australia

Vintage Comments: The 2013 vintage had two brief heat spikes prior to the beginning of March compressed the vintage, with all varieties ripening hot on the heels of each other. “Best ever” fruit composition was supported well by vine and fruit condition, which was nonetheless excellent. The vintage followed the excellent 2012 vintage.

Winemaker’s Notes: Colour: A pale translucent pink. Bouquet: A delicately perfumed wine with lifted aromas of fresh

fruity mango; strawberry with a hint of candy and subtle rose petal.

Palate: The wine has fresh fruit flavours of Muscat grapes, mango and tropical fruits. The palate is light-bodied and fruit-driven with excellent acid balance and the natural sweetness gives the palate a round, luscious texture. The finish is soft and slightly spritzy. Fresh, fragrant and lightly spritzed, this Moscato makes a perfect aperitif and is best enjoyed whilst young and vibrant.

Food: Moscato needs to be served well chilled and is downright delicious with apple desserts, fresh berries, summer salads, meringue pies, peach cobbler, hazelnut desserts and lemon-poppy breads and cakes. While dessert is Moscato’s forte, cheese courses, charcuterie or antipasto plates can be perfect pairings.

Grape Variety: Shiraz 100%Case Production: 10,000 casesBottle Size: 750ml StelvinRegion: South Australia

Vintage Comments: The 2012 vintage was an outstanding year. Very good subsoil moisture which was carried over from 2011, alongside a reasonable and consistent average summer rainfall, with moderate to below average daily temperatures complemented and assisted with very good canopy health throughout the course of the 2012 season. Overall the red varieties are every bit as good as the best years over the past two decades. The 2012 vintage truly was one of the great years reflected by the outstanding flavour and natural acidity.

Winemaker’s Notes:

Colour: A deep magenta burgundy with an everlasting crimson hue.

Bouquet: Fresh black current preserve, with dark strawberry jam and blackberry; surrounded by underlying hints of butterscotch, menthol and spice.

Palate: A lively refreshing and medium bodied palate. Comprising sweet berry fruits, ripest plums and cassis, with hints of chocolate molasses, caraway seed and fennel.

The vintage followed the excellent 2012 vintage.

Winemaker’s Notes: Colour: An intensely dark blood dye red with a black, squid ink

hue. Bouquet: A subtle yet sophisticated nose that teases the brain

with assorted fruits that intrigue. Smokey, dusty coffee beans and burnt chocolate encapsulate the senses.

Palate: Black pepper, liquorice, clove, thyme hit the taste buds and get the heart beating that little bit faster. Strong blackcurrant and blackberry combine well with the leathery, earthy, “spicy” cedar oak, cigar box of a typical Australian full bodied Shiraz.

Food: Brisket, classic slow cooked Texas BBQ. Grilled lamb or grass fed beef. Beef stew or a Chili Colorado (a mildly spiced Mexican stew).
