In 1994, soon after taking over his father’s import business near the famous Waldburg Castle in Germany, Johannes Kiderlen reorganized his shops to focus on four products: fruit vinegars, exquisite oils, selected wines, and exclusive spirits and liqueurs direct from the cask. This concept allowed the business to fulfill his customers’ desire for tasting and sampling Europe’s finest products, which he would then decant into attractive bottles or jars of the customer’s choice. The knowledge and relationships Kiderlen gained in developing his shops evolved into his company’s guiding mission and the motto of “ONLY the very best, always.” Only the best ingredients will be used in the manufacture of VOM FASS products.

VOM FASS translates literally as “from the cask,” and this is the core concept of the brand. Often described as an Aladdin’s Cave for food and drink lovers or a candy store for grown-ups, VOM FASS stores house the nations widest, cask-borne selections.

Selling straight from the cask to the customer is not a new approach, but it harks back to earlier times. Our unique approach to sharing our exquisite finds with customers is reminiscent of the intimacy originally found when customers used to buy directly from the producer.

The concept of “Look . Taste . Enjoy” helps to explain VOM FASS’ rapid expansion throughout the world along with its remarkably high customer loyalty rates. From the crags and cliffs of the Swiss Alps to the salty shores of the Mediterranean Sea, VOM FASS scours the globe to select and stock the world’s most luxurious products. Each item showcased in our stores is the result of our passion for perfection. We take great pride in building warm and close relationships with the producers of our products, ensuring each taste you savor is produced with the same love and care we put into selecting the products we offer.

Additionally, consideration is given to the origin, growing conditions, maturation period, and extraction method that, when combined,

result in uncompromising quality. Due to the stringent standards we uphold, and our passion for acquiring products prized by epicures, our selection of amazing fruit vinegars, exquisite culinary oils, select wines, exclusive liqueurs, and fine and rare spirits is continually updated.

Once these standards are completely satisfied, the selected products are sealed in our patented airtight containers and shipped fresh around the world, only to come in contact with air and sunlight at the moment of tasting or bottling.

Each of our family of employees completes an intense training upon hire and continuously partakes in additional education about our line of products, their origins, pairings, and usage. This vast level of knowledge is a key element to the VOM FASS experience, providing each visitor with an in-house expert.

Olive Oils: The olives used in the creation of VOM FASS selected olive oils are all extra virgin, organically grown and cold pressed. Ranging in flavors from subtle to intense, the olive offer hints of grass, artichokes, almonds, and herbs among our many offerings.

Nut, Seed and Legume Oils: Abundant in natural vitamins, healthful amino acids, and, of course, flavor, these robust oils can be added to most any dish to bring an earthy depth. Amidst our wide range are options such as succulent hazelnut oil, intense pumpkin seed oil, and light and fruity grape seed oil.

Herb and Spice Oils: These infused delicacies are made by starting with the highest grade olive oils and infusing them with flavors that surprise and delight. Enjoy hints of lemon, rosemary, porcini mushroom, and truffles whenever you wish with just a finishing touch of these flavorful oils.

Aceto Balsamico Di Modena: Heralded as the king of sweet and sour, this classic-style vinegar is dark, rich, and full-flavored. Able to stand up to hearty meats and aged cheeses, it also is perfectly at home on salads and fish.

Waldburg Star: Made from the pure juice of ripened fruit, these intensely aromatic vinegars are a star in the kitchen. Thick and sweet, with a low acidity, in flavors of apple, fig, and forest raspberry, these vinegars are ideal for aperitifs, desserts, salads, and sauces.

Waldburg Balsam: Rich and delicious with mild and spicy aromas, we craft these vinegars from natural fruits in our own aging Solara in the foothills of the Alps in Waldburg, Germany. With creative and inspiring flavors such as quince, mango, ginger, blackcurrant, and pomegranate, they bring a unique element to any dish.
