Promoworks has been awarded a very big, high profile initiative from Sara Lee executing in several retailers in the U.S... The purpose of this event is to increase sales and customer knowledge of the various deli meats that Sara Lee has to offer. This event started on August 16th and is running every weekend straight through November 4th in select Dominick’s, Food Lion, Hannaford and BI-LO stores.

team and the feedback we hear is, “Lee values us”. “Lee is so supportive and wants us to succeed”. “I can always get in touch with Lee when I need her”. The same is true with store managers. Lee makes sure to introduce herself to all managers and supervisors in the stores in her area. It’s good business practice and gives our customer confidence when they see Lee working with her team members. Oh, did I mention Lee is bi-lingual? She speaks fluent Spanish and she is always looking to learn more. Over the last 3 years during Safeway’s Game Day event at The Chargers Qualcomm Stadium, Lee, the DCIC (District Coordinator in Charge) has worked diligently with other DC’s, ES’ and alongside our Area Manager to ensure that the event ran smoothly and professionally. In an effort to guarantee this event was a success, Lee scheduled over 20 ES’ and coordinated each of their tasks and responsibilities. Great Job Lee!

Halloween Snack

With Halloween right around the corner, we’ve found a ghoulish snack for you to try, using one of our clients’ products. Simply take a thick pretzel stick or pickle spear and wrap it with slices of your favorite Sara Lee Deli Lunch Meat. To make a fingernail, merely insert an almond slice at one end. At the other end, you can add ketchup for a bloody effect. Kids will enjoy eating them as much as they will enjoy helping you make them. This certainly gives new meaning to the phrase, ‘finger foods’! Have a Happy and Safe Halloween!

Lee also has a passion for excellence. She strives for perfection, whether its scheduling events, training a new ES, performing an assessment/coaching or making sure all her events are completed on time. Lee’s goal is always the 100% mark and her record reflects her efforts. She is always available to her

LPGA Golf Classic August 17th-19th

Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course, North Plains, OR On August 17th-19th, Promoworks once again participated in the Safeway LPGA Golf Classic. The LPGA tournament drew a record crowd of over 80,000 spectators to the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course in North Plains, Oregon during that weekend. The team of Engagement Specialists who staffed the Taste of Safeway Food Pavilion were motivated, energetic and very engaging and the spectators absolutely loved sampling the various products that our team was promoting. Working in partnership with Safeway, our Engagement Specialists introduced Open Nature products like ice cream, bread, yogurt and sausage while on the national brands side, we hosted companies like Tillamook, Chiquita and Vitamin Water, just to name a few. We ran out of several items and coupons within the last 10 minutes of the event.

Rex Chaney, who manages and coordinates this event, once again did a spectacular job allowing the field team to come in and do what we do best, engage and promote, promote, promote! To everyone who participated, thank you for your hard work and dedication in making this event successful!

Helpful Hints from Engagement

Specialists

Joyce Dahl, Area Manager, and Shirley Marsden, District Coordinator (New Hampshire and Massachusetts) solicited the Engagement Specialists in their area and asked them to submit a few of their most “helpful hints”. They responded with gusto! Below are a few of their responses: “I wrap hot items in aluminum foil as soon as they are

cooked, to keep them warm longer. To keep them warm

even longer, you can place the wrapped samples on top of

the toaster oven while cooking the next batch.” ~ Jeanette Colpitt

“I use plastic spoons (left over from a previous demo) to

spoon out samples instead of using flatware from home. I

can throw them away after a few samples, and it is more sanitary.” ~ John Elliott

“I wash my jacket on permanent press, in warm water. I

hang it up right away so I never need to iron it.” ~ Christino Catino

“To keep cold foods cold, I use two rectangular pans. I

place ice in the bottom pan, and the product in the top.

The product stays cold and doesn't get wet. Depending on

the amount of product and space available, I often use two

sets of these, one for potential shopper purchase and one for the product I am using.” ~ Patti Bublat

“I complete all paperwork at the store. At home, I enter the

Promo Report online. Next, I make copies of my paperwork

and send the ORIGINAL paperwork and COPIES of my

receipts immediately to PromoWorks. By doing this, I’m

ensuring that my paperwork will be received on time and I

will be paid when expected.” ~ Patti Bublat

Thanks to all the Engagement Specialists who participated in this poll. Keep those tips and hints coming and be looking for your submitted hint in the next installment of

*Handy Helpful Hints*!

Joyce Dahl made the following observation: “Jeanette Colpitt uses a sales

rep black bag to organize all

the paperwork and extras

needed for her demo.

Everything gets brought in

and is readily accessed

when needed. The bag has

accordion type pleats and

folds that accommodate

even small demo supplies

and hides neatly under the

demo table.”
