With each passing day I seem to understand and cherish more the importance of friendships. From the very beginning God announced that it was not good for man to be alone. Of course, this absolute truth spoken by God applied to His creation of women but in a very real way it applies to friend- ships within the genders as well. I think any man or women, regardless of how strong the marriage, will testify to the importance of friendships with their own gender. There are things that only other women or other men can completely understand. While the relationship with our spouse is the most important relationship in our lives, other than our relationship with our Lord of course, friendships with those of the same sex is also crucial. I hope the relationship between David and Jonathan will remind us all of this fact and inspire us to deepen and/or start a new friendship. Life Groups provides a great opportunity to start and develop a great friendship with a brother or sister in the Lord's body. If you are not connected to a Life Group let me help. It is my prayer that we all have a person or two in our lives that we can go to in times or joy or discouragement we call friend! What a blessing to have a man like Jon on stand-by to preach when- ever he is needed. I look forward, as always, to hearing Jon's thoughts on David and Jonathan.

With each passing day I seem to understand and cherish more the importance of friendships. From the very beginning God announced that it was not good for man to be alone. Of course, this absolute truth spoken by God applied to His creation of women but in a very real way it applies to friend-ships within the genders as well.
