Last week we were fortunate enough to be able to go and visit the Bonnars goat farm and see how this operates. The kids also got to handle and see some of the new kids and bole feed them too, which was a great experience. Thank you to Earl and Louise for having us! Aſter that excitement we headed to Hillcrest High School to learn about and see all of the amazing instruments that they had on offer there. It was great to see the smiles on the childrens faces as they played the electric guitars, drums and the cool digital instruments. It was also very excing to see their orchestra and jazz band perform. This was an amazing opportunity, and they had such a great me. A huge thanks to Hillcrest High Staff, Merv & Wendy Cook and the parents who helped on the day. Learning Journey Folders These folders will again be coming home on Friday for the holidays. Your children and the teachers put a huge amount of effort into organising these, and they are a fantasc resource for students, teachers and parents alike. It is important that you make some me to sit down with your child and go through what they have done over the term and celebrate their successes. It is also a me for reflecon and goal seng. Please remember to fill in the comments part for parents in the folder and to check out the new informaon about what you can do at home to help with your childs learning. This has replaced some of the other informaon in the start of the folder. Mid Year Reports These will be coming home in your childs learning journey folder this Friday. These are to go alongside the learning journey folders to give parents informaon about where your child is in terms of the Naonal Standard, and what they are learning to do. It is important to realise that not all children learn at the same rate and in the same way and for some that means their children can be below the standard for some me and then make huge gains at other mes to be above. Sammy & the Chickens Thanks to those who have given some food for Sammy. We are sll on the look out for more if anyone has this available. If anyone also has a small coop or hutch for the chickens and a spare water feeder, this would be appreciated. Sausage Sizzle There will be no sausage sizzle this Friday due to the disco on Thursday night. Kind regards Jordan, Karen, Raewyn and Wendy

  • Term 3 Term three is shaping up to be even more exciting than this term with our unit on technology and how things work. At the moment the teacher are planning what this will look like, but it will involve a lot of hands on experiences with technology and creating interesting things. We are also going to have a speech competition and we will hopefully be hosting other schools from around Morrinsville which should be a great opportunity for people to come and see our amazing school.
