Reports and Three-Way Interviews

Page 3: Newsletter - Week 10, Term 2

Mid-Year Reports will be given out from Thursday 1st July. Staff have spent a considerable amount of

time and effort to write about your child’s progress this year. Please take the time to sit and talk with

your child about his/her learning. You will then have the opportunity early in Term 3 to have an interview

with your child’s teacher. Three-way interviews are a great way to connect with your child ’s learning.

They will be held over two weeks in Term 3, starting from Monday 19th July through to Friday 30th

July. Interviews will go for 15 minutes. During this time discussion will be about your child’s Mid-Year

Report and your child will share the learning they have done in Semester 1. There will also be an

opportunity for you to discuss your child’s One Plan (if applicable). Please make the time to book an

interview with your child’s class teacher.

Year 6 and Year 7 Graduation

All Year 7 students will be entering high school starting in 2022. This means that all Year 6 and Year 7

students will be having a graduation ceremony towards the end of this year. The gradua tion ceremony

will take place at Grand Central on Wednesday 1st December. All Year 6s and Year 7s will graduate in

this ceremony with awards given for both Year 6 and Year 7 academic achievement and effort. Keep an

eye out for further information from the Year 6 and 7 teachers in term 3.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on School Students

with Disability

All schools are required to collect information about the numbers of students that they provide

adjustments to under the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and Disability Standards of Education

(2005). The NCCD involves the collection of;

· the number of students receiving adjustments to enable them to participate in education on the same

basis as other students

· the level of adjustment provided to students

· student’s type of disability if known

Under the model the definition of disability is broad and includes learning difficulties, health, and mental

health conditions. If your child is identified for inclusion in the Collection, the required information will be

included in this year’s data collection. If you have any questions about the data collection, please contact

Christine Isemonger on 82552219.

Learning News - C5

Page 5: Newsletter - Week 10, Term 2

In C5, we have been learning about plant structure and ways to care for our plants. We linked our

knowledge to our learning of design through creating a 3D model plant of our choice. We created our

design brief, including simple diagrams, labels, and materials, and used our resources to create our 3D

plant models. Below are some photos of how we created our designs and our final products.

Library News

Page 10: Newsletter - Week 10, Term 2

The Library staff hope everyone is enjoying the Books in Homes they were presented with last week. We

had many ecstatic students receive their chosen books to take home and share with their families, and

anticipate they will bring much joy over the coming school holidays.

Our Premiers Reading Challenge display wall is growing, quite literally. With classes and students

continually completing sheets, we have already given out so many prizes and can ’t wait to see more

filtering through!

Coming up in library events next Term in early August, we will be holding the Scholastic Book Fair in the

Performing Arts room, with parents able to choose titles before and after school with their children

(pending any updated restriction guidelines).

Opening Times: 8.10 - 8.40am & 3.00 - 3.30pm.

Hoping everyone has a lovely break, and as always, Happy Reading!

Doughnut Day

On Tuesday the 29th of June Goodman (Green Team) celebrated with a Krispy Kreme Doughnut Day for

earning the most house points across the school for term 2. Each student can earn points for their team if

they consistently demonstrate the school values. This term it was extremely close with Penfold (Red

Team) only just missing out and Manston (Blue Team) coming third.
