Compared with the non-Muslim Australians, Muslim

Australians were significantly younger.Almost 40 per cent were younger than 20 comparedwith 27 per cent of non-Muslims.

Around 37 per cent of Muslims and 27 per cent of non-Muslim Australians were between 20 and 39 years ofage,

Only 6 per cent of Muslims were older than 60compared with 19 per cent of Non-MuslimAustralians.

Their age structure suggests that as a human resourceAustralian Muslims are concentrated in the moreeconomically productive years of the lifecycle.
