LOUVRES FOR NATURAL VENTILATION:

The Premaberg P2XLP louvre profile was specificallydeveloped for use in naturally ventilated offshoreplatform modules where the louvre operatingcharacteristics are important for effective naturalventilation.

THE KEY ATTRIBUTES OF THE P2XLP LOUVRE ARE:• Effective water removal.

• Exceptionally low ‘K’ factor. In isolation this is 4.25, averaged over both flow directions, increasing to approximately 6.0 by the effect of framing.

• Minimal resistance at low velocities and near uninterrupted flow.

• Reverse flow characteristics similar to those in the primary flow direction, providing minimum resistance to outflowing air on downwind side.

• Increasing pressure drop at high velocities, reducing effect of high wind speeds, but maintaining adequate air flows.

• Vertical blades to achieve maximum effective distribution within the ventilated area.

APPLICATIONSPremaberg High Efficiency Weather Louvres have been supplied for a wide range of applications where good water removal from air streams is required. These applications vary from many hundreds of square metres of louvre panels used for natural ventilation to small single panels used to protect HVAC systems. Premaberg Louvres are used extensively on offshore platforms, maritime vessels and commercial buildings for both inletand exhaust duties.

ENGINEERING DETAILS:

• Louvre Panels are of All Welded Construction withblades positively fixed. A design with removableindividual blades is available on request.

• Premaberg Louvre Panels are designed to resistHigh Wind Loads, Impact Damage and CorrosiveElements. Results of impact damage testing areavailable.

• Bird Screens, either fixed or removable, can beprovided as an option.

• Fixing Arrangements are designed to interface withother components of the module wall such as doors,windows, explosion relief panels and steelwork.Louvre panels are normally flanged for fixing withbolts, although clamps may also be used.

• For Installations with Multiple Louvre Panels, thedrainage system is interconnected from higher tolower panels, ensuring efficient water drainage forthe whole bank of louvres.

• A standard penetration system is availableenabling pipes, ducts and cable trays to pass throughthe louvred wall with minimal effect on the louvreperformance.

• Penetrations should ideally be identified at thedesign stage prior to manufacture, but a standard kitis available should on-site penetrations be necessary.

• The Supporting Steelwork Structure can besupplied by Premaberg if required, ensuring fullcompliance with required loadings and interfacingwith the main platform structure.
