Kingfisher louvres provide permanentventilation combined with weather

protection and visual screening. Acoustic attenuation louvres are alsoavailable.

They can be used to fill openings or toform screening enclosures to all kinds ofhvac, mechanical and other plant rooms.

The louvres can provide a continuousappearance, and with a wide range ofcolour finishes form an architecturalfeature of a building. The system is veryflexible, and louvre banks can be made toalmost any practicable size or shape.

The corrosion-resistant constructionmakes them suitable for all externalinstallations including roof tops.

There is a wide range of blade designs tomeet different requirements, according tothe functions required: maximum airflow, weather protection, visualscreening, and acoustic screening (seeproduct selection table opposite).Matching louvre doors are also availablefor most ranges.

KW 75 HPG weather protection louvre

The new KW 75 HPG high-performancelouvre blade combines low airflow resistancewith maximum weather exclusion. Followingexhaustive development work andindependent testing, Kingfisher can offerone of the best-performing single-banklouvre systems on the market.

Louvres provide high rainwaterrejection combined with highairflow rate up to A2performance classification,assured by independent testingby BSRIA. This represents abetter performance than mostdouble-bank systems, achievedat a lower cost and within asmaller depth of opening.

The registered design isaesthetically pleasing and thegutter profile avoids thecascade effect.

Designed and developed under BS EN ISO9001 which covers design management,development, manufacture and installation.

KW Weather protection louvresLouvre system comprising banks of bladesproviding permanent ventilation combinedwith weather protection and visual screening.

Louvres are supplied either mounted onconcealed mullions for a continuousappearance or as individual framed panels,and can form an architectural feature of abuilding. The system is very flexible; banksand panels can be made to any practicablesize or shape.

Z-profile and S-profile blades are designed togive good protection against water penetrationtogether with low resistance to airflow.

All components are aluminium for long lifewith good corrosion resistance.

ApplicationsAny application requiring permanent large-scale ventilation combined with screening,for example air inlet and exhaust forventilation or air conditioning systems, plantrooms, lift motor rooms, generators andpumping stations.

Blades clip in place and cannot be removedwithout special tools, so the system issuitable for use in publicly accessible areas.

Blanked-off panels are available to providecontinuity of appearance where required.

CompositionBlades, mullions and clips are extrudedaluminium grade 6063 T6 to BS 1474.

Trims and flashings are either extrudedaluminium grade 6063 T6 to BS 1474 orfolded aluminium sheet, depending oninstallation details. Fixings are stainless steel.

AccessoriesMitred corners where required, and a varietyof edge trims and flashings to suit theinstallation.

Bird/vermin guard (overlapped and securedto mullions): HDPE (high densitypolyethylene) as standard, or expandedaluminium; hole size 15mm.Insect guard (framed in panels): HDPE, holesize 4mm.

Also a wide range of ancillaries including doors(see page 13), access panels, and turrets.

Doors can be supplied with louvre bladesmatching all KW single and multiple-banklouvres.

Doors are outward opening, single or double,and are supplied complete with frame andironmongery. All components are aluminium for long lifewith good corrosion resistance.

ApplicationsTo provide access to plant and boiler rooms,lift motor rooms, meter cupboards, pumpingstations and other plant enclosures.

CompositionThe door leaf has a framing of welded extrudedaluminium hollow sections, to which louvreblades are clipped after installation.

The door frame comprises extrudedaluminium head, jambs and threshold boltedtogether to form a complete frame.

All components are extruded aluminiumgrade 6063 T6 to BS 1474.

AppearanceDoors provide a continuous appearancewhen installed within a KW louvre bank. A small lock area with D handle is the onlyinterruption to the line of the louvre blades.



MaintenanceClean working components by wiping with asoft cloth and applying a light machine oil asrequired. Check operation of the door everythree months to ensure all fixings are tightand latches engage correctly. Some specialironmongery may require routinemaintenance in accordance withmanufacturer’s instructions provided.

KA Acoustic louvresAcoustically treated louvres providingpermanent ventilation combined withreduction of airborne sound transmissioninto or out of buildings. The louvres alsoprovide weather protection, and are suppliedas framed modular panels.

ApplicationsCan be used to provide airborne soundattenuation at ducted fan inlets anddischarge outlets in plant room walls orelsewhere. Also for general plant roomventilation with sound attenuation.

Can be installed behind standard Kingfisherlouvres or as an architectural feature of abuilding in themselves.

CompositionStandard louvre blades: galvanised steelsheet with no further applied finish.

To special order: stainless steel, British SteelHP200 plastic coated steel sheet.

The acoustic medium is non-toxic mineralwool, density 45kg/m3, packed at 10%compression to eliminate voids,and held in position within thelouvre blades by perforatedgalvanised steel sheet.

AccessoriesMitred corners where required,and a variety of edge trims andflashings to suit the installation.

Bird/vermin guard: HDPE orexpanded aluminium, hole size15mm.

KC Screening louvresThe KC 120 system comprises banks oflouvre blades, designed primarily to providevisual screening at an economical cost, butnot weather protection.

The Z profile blades can be installed angledupwards or downwards according todirection of view, or double banked forscreening from any angle.

Blade spacing can be varied, and louvres maybe vertical, horizontal or inclined, accordingto requirements.

Louvres are mounted on concealed mullionsfor a continuous appearance, and can forman architectural feature of a building. Thesystem is very flexible; banks and panels canbe made to any practicable size or shape.


ApplicationsGenerally used for screening hvac and otherplant on roofs from higher buildings or fromlow level. Blade centres can be adjusted tosuit sightlines and specific requirements.



CompositionBlades, mullions and clips are extrudedaluminium grade 6063 T6 to BS 1474. All other components are aluminium.

Fixings are stainless steel.


Size, shapeMinimum blade centres 100mm.

Maximum blade length is normally 3.0m forease of handling/practicality.

AppearanceLouvres provide clean lines with acontinuous appearance; no fixings orsupports are visible from outside.
