RV is an external louvre designed to protect fresh air and extract air openings of ventilation systems. RV provides effective protection against water penetration with low pressure loss. Resistance to water penetration tested according to EUROVENT 2/5 standard.
ApplicationSuitable for supply and exhaust air.Good resistance to water penetration and low pressure loss make it especially well suited for fresh air openings. The grille is manufactured of galvanized steel and powder coated (RAL 7000).Can also be manufactured of other materials, e.g. alumin-ium, copper, stainless steel or acid-proof steel.

The louvre's corners are welded waterproof.RV louvres are produced for openings with various sizes. Standard louvres are rectangular. Triangular grilles are available on special order.Standard sizes manufactured every 50 mm for length and width. Minimum size 200x200 mm. Louvres larger than 1200x1500 mm are manufactured in modules.Dimensions B and H are the nominal sizes of the louvre. The tolerances of B and H are +0/-5 mm.

Technical dataRV external louvre have been tested according to the Eurovent 2/5 standard. The test results prove that the louvre has an excellent resistance to water penetration and low pressure loss.According to Eurovent, the maximum air flow velocity at the front surface of the louvre is 2,7 m/s, and water resistance is 98%.

OperationThe front louvre distributes air flow evenly on the grille. Snow trapped to the back louvre melts and flows along the grille surface to a draining pipe. The draining pipe can be connected to sewer (sewer connection R3/4" with outer thread).
Structure and dimensionsRVUK external louvre has 3 structural parts:
1. front louvre2. back louvre3. mounting frame
Front louvre and mounting frame are manufactured of gal-vanized steel sheet and powder coated (standard colour RAL 7000). Back louvre is manufactured of aluminium pro-files and is equipped with a self-regulating thermal cable ELSR-N-40-2-AO (Eltherm).Can also be manufactured of aluminium, stainless steel or acid-proof steel.Can be produced for all sizes of openings. Standard sizes every 100 mm. Minimum size 500x500 mm. The area of the maximum size manufactured in one part is 1,0 m2. Larger units are manufactured in modules with a connection box in each module.

Pressure drop
Heating powerRVUK louvres maximum heating power of the thermal cable is 2100 W/m2 (16A), when outside temperature is –18 °C. Operating voltage 230 VAC / 50 Hz. Each module is connected to the louvre separately under 16A fuse.

Installation instructions First fix the mounting frame. Mounting frame dimensions are 5 mm smaller than the unit's nominal dimensions. Then install the back louvre and front louvre to the frame with screws. For electrical and drainage connections, at least 100 mm free space must be left behind the unit.Drainage pipe with sewer connection 1/2'' x 3/8'' with outer thread.
Electrical connectionElectrical connections shall be made in IP65 connection box (included). In the modular construction there is a separate connection box in each module. Every module has to be connected separately under 16A fuse. This must be taken into account when electrical drawings are being drafted.

RVR snow shield is designed to protect supply air openings. Very good resistance to water and snow penetration.
ApplicationThe RVR snow shield is designed for protecting the air intake holes of ventilation systems preventing snow and water from getting into the building. Snow shield is with labyrinth design and air intake is carried out also through the openings on both sides of the shield. Snow and water are efficiently separated from the air flow and drained through an openings in the bottom of the shield. Snow shield is made of hot galvanized steel and the surface is finished with powder coating. Can also be manufactured of stainless steel or acid-proof steel.
Structure and Dimensions Snow shields are manufactured for all sizes of rectangular supply air openings.Minimum size 800x800 mm (spacing 100 mm). Sizes over 2000x2000 mm are built in modules.Recommended depth C is 400 mm (min 200 mm and max 500 mm). The wall opening must be at least 400 mm narrower and 400 mm shorter than the grate (B-400)x(H-400).Possibility to deliver in modules.

Technical data The better results of RVR snow shield resistance to water and snow penetration can be achieved when the louvre face velocity does not exceed 0,6 m/s.
Selection diagramExample:Airflow qv = 1000 l/s ja Desired face velocity v =0,6 m/s.Looking at the diagram intake air pressure drop is Δpt = 38 Pa.From the selection diagram we get that the surface area is A0 = 1,8 m2
Therefore an appropriate shield isRVR 1000x1000x400.

Design and InstallationFollow these instructions when planning the installation and during the actual installation of the shield:1. Snow shield should be placed to the north side of the building, if possible, in order to avoid thermal
stress caused in summer.2. Snow shield must be of an appropriate size. The recommended flow rate is 0,6 m/s measured from the
maze surface. Scheme S = (B + (2 x C)) × H ;[m²] is applied for calculating the surface area.3. Distance between the inlet and outlet louvres must be enought that outgoing and incoming air would
not mix.4. The height of the shield from the ground must be over 2 meters. 5. In roof applications the shield must be installed at least at the height of 0,9 meters, or otherwise
protected from snow.6. Location of the air inlet shield should be placed as far as possible from vent output holes, trash barrels,
chimneys and other sources of possibly polluted air.7. When designig you must take into account also other general building regulations.
InstallationWhen installing a snow shield, make sure that this is attached to the support structure. The brackets must be selected according to the wall material. If the louvre consists of four or more modules, additional vertical supports must be used. A structural beam or wooden beam suitable as an additional support is attached to the junctions of the module frame and to the wall structure of the building.The opening must be in the middle of the snow shield.See also RVR snow shield installation instructions.For best results, we recommend that the ventilation chambers be equipped with a drain connection and, if necessary, an electric defrost.

The RVLU snow shield is designed for the protection of supply air openings from snow.The shield has good water and snow barrier properties.RVLU grilles meet the requirements of the LVI-RYL and SFS 5358 standards.

RVK is a non-return damper protecting exhaust air openings.
Features:• Prevents air backflow• Protects ventilations systems from rainwater• Easy to install• RVKS can be installed into horizontal or vertical duct
system
ApplicationRVK is to be installed in wall openings. With no air flow, the louvre closes automatically because of gravity to prevent backflow.
Structure and dimensionsRVK and RVKS are constructed of two parts: a frame and a removable louvre. The frame is manufactured of galvanized steel and the louvre blades of aluminium. RVK is with powder coated finish (RAL 7000). RVK has waterproof welding on the corners of the frame. Standard sizes every 100 mm. Minimum size 200x200 mm and maximum 800x1200 mm. Larger louvres are manufactured in modules.
Technical dataRecommended air velocity in ventilation duct is up to 5 m/s.

MSL is used mainly for absorbing technical equipment noise in indriustal premicies.
