Panhandle PBS has been an important part of life in Texas Panhandle for more than 28 years. It is a gathering place for intelligent, trusted community engagement that educates, enlightens, empowers and entertains – on air, online and in the community. Community gathers here at Panhandle PBS each week with the new, locally produced, issue-driven series, Live Here, and our in-depth discussion pieces and candidates’ forums for local elections, as well as our segments sharing stories of cancer throughout the Panhandle.

Children of all ages, learn here when Panhandle PBS provides teachers with resource tools for student success and engages college-goers with thought-provoking content to enrich their studies and broaden their cultural horizons.

Art thrives here through visual and performing arts events, a web series, Artistically Speaking, and various live streaming events.

In addition, a “season of mystery” partnership with the Amarillo Public Library and the Don Harrington Discovery Center proves that adventure really does begin here. The station’s activities in our community over the last year show our impact has had both breadth and depth. Our community partners have played a large role in this positive impact. Museums, libraries, school service providers, health care providers, and Amarillo College have all made great things happen here. We are grateful to everyone – our members, our underwriters, our partners. You have helped support the foundational educational mission of public television for us all. Thank you,

Ellen Robertson GreenCEO Panhandle PBS

From our Cancer engagement partners:

The Panhandle PBS staff was excellent! You and your support staff were very easy to work with and provided great resources and information to our patients and staff. I have had patients ask when we will be able to “do this again?” They are living the story that was told in the film and, by including them in the screening, I believe they were able to recognize their part in this story.- Natalie Henning, Harrington Cancer Center

[Regarding the DVD and book copies, our director would like to] set up a “lending library” for patients and health care professionals new to the field of oncology. Thanks again for all your help. Panhandle PBS is truly a great community resource to this vast area we call home. - Stan McKeever, Harrington Cancer Center

Panhandle PBS Advisory Council Members:

Panhandle PBS is a television station that reflects the best of what our region has to offer.

Part of its success in representing the Panhandle comes from the work of its advisory

council. I am honored to serve as chair of this council that brings together PBS supporters

from communities big and small across the area.

In every advisory council meeting, we are able to discuss the concerns and passions of

folks from your community, and we get to see the brilliant work that Panhandle PBS does

to alleviate those concerns and foster those passions. These meetings bring together

millennials, generation X, and baby boomers who all want the best for the station and the

Panhandle region.

We would love to hear from you as well. If you’ve ever had an idea you think would make

for great television, let us know. I am so proud to be a part of a council and television

station that believes that community really does gather here.

Matt Morgan
