In February, we are continuing our
Sermon Series called the
"Soap Opera of Salvation".
In this sermon series we are delving into
the life of Abraham to learn more about
just how messy and crazy life can get
when we choose to follow God's Call.
Capital Campaign Update:
1. We are halfway through our “Raising the Roof” capital campaign, and so far, we
have raised $27,204, which is a great start (thanks to everyone who has given)! 2. As a result of the diligence of our property committee we have also gotten a bid
locked-in to make these repairs for $70,000, which is $20,000 less than what we were expecting. That means we only have $42,796 left to raise.
3. In response to our progress we still want to continue to encourage the whole
church to prayerfully consider giving over and above your normal giving so that we can make this a reality, sooner rather than later. Keep in mind that this is
something we have to do as a congregation to make sure we continue to have a beautiful place of worship.

Mission Weekend/Retreat You asked for it and Outreach is providing the op-
portunity to make a BIG difference at our Kansas
Region’s Disciples Center at Camp Tawakoni.
Come for the whole weekend and bring the whole
family. There will be a program for the children
during the day while the adults are working. And
there will be planned activities for everyone in the
evenings on Friday and Saturday. If you stay over
through Sunday, we will have our own worship
service in the beautiful setting of the Camp and
then will put the finishing touch on our work pro-
jects. If you cannot come for the whole weekend,
feel free to come for Friday evening and Saturday
OR just come for the day on Saturday. Work pro-
jects may include construction/repair; painting; tree
trimming/branch clearing; mowing, working with
the children; working with the kitchen crew, etc.
(depending on the skills of those who attend).
Travel time to the camp is 2 hours 20 minutes. If
you want to learn more about our Regional Camp,

Disciples Center from the menu at the top.

Valentine’s Day Dinner and Talent Show

First Christian Church

Menu: Roast Pork, Potato Casserole, Green Beans, Jello Salad, Rolls, Sherbet, Coffee, Tea, and Ice Water will be served.
Please reserve your place by Sunday, February 5th by either contacting the church office or signing the list in the narthex. This is a family-friendly event! Cost for the evening is a free will donation to the roof fund.
The Talent Show will be held after dinner is served. If you are planning to perform, please sign the list in the narthex, or contact Mary Hunter by Sunday February 5th. Don’t be shy, we want to see all of those hidden treasures that you have been hiding! Sign up and share with your church family! No prizes will be given, but we promise to love and appreciate your talent offerings.
If you would be willing to help in the kitchen or set up and clean up for the talent show, please contact Mary Hunter. .

On March 1st, at 6 pm, we are beginning a new 7
week Bible Study over the Father of our Faith,
Abraham. In this Bible Study ,we are going to be
digging deeper into the powerful saga of
Abraham's life to see what it is that God has to teach
us about living our own lives.
We are starting up our Young Adult Bible Study
Class again, Sunday, March 5th, at 5 PM.
In this 7 week study, we are going to be picking up
right where we left off in the book of Genesis. So
if you are 18 to 40ish, make plans to join us as we
delve into the depths of Genesis to see what God
has to teach us about living our own lives.
(As always, day care will be provided.)

BAPTISM PROGRAM BEGINS FEB. 26TH Letters have gone out to 4th-12th graders who have not been baptized inviting them to consider being part of this program which teaches them all about faith and what it means to be baptized. This is also a program for Adults considering baptism. Anyone interested needs to contact Pastor Sue and plan to attend the Orientation Dinner on Sunday, Feb. 26th at 5:30 pm. This is a seven week program ending with the possibil-ity of being baptized on Easter.
