NOTES:The 1949 flood level is approximately 8.48 to 8.58 AHDmeasured 1.8-1.9 from base of Electricity pole surveyed at RiversidePark Boat Ramp entry at 6.68 metres. For example, this would be3.0 metres above the existing central car park level at 5.8m.
This selected Option 1 Master Plan explores the opportunities andconstraints of existing facilities, services and infrastructure of theSite. The existing fenced League 1 area is generally retained as is withminor optional parking/pedestrian provisions on site and possiblenew parking south of site, servicing south and western fields. The western area can accommodate a full size turf wicket with twoleague fields either side and two north/south orientated junior leagueand an asphalt basket-ball court or equal to the north. The eastern area, is already well and efficiently laid out. Minorchanges proposed to accommodate, a turf wicket with 65mboundary, a synthetic wicket with 65m boundary, a junior syntheticwicket with 40m boundary, with 2 full size soccer and several mixedage smaller fields. The north east area accommodates an extensive but ad-hocdeveloped Net-ball area. This plan rationalises the orientation, intensifies hard surface and grass surface courts and replaces theexisting building to enable a more concentrated rational layout.
Car park expansion opportunities have been explored and proposed.
A path network is proposed to cater for pedestrians and cycles toprovide access to facilities and general transit, with exercise stationsalong the way and perhaps some play in larger spaces adjacent.
New Elevated (8.6 floor level?) Building options include: Option 1mid Sydney St east side and Option 2, replaces the existing VergeLane building with larger extending westwards. Uses proposed are:storage, club, toilet/change facilities as well as sub-station andelectrics for lighting and irrigation pumps all above 1949 flood level.
Water supply for irrigation to the area is from the Survey limited to ahydrant system between the Netball courts and a couple of 'watermeters identified on the Survey. It is understood Council isconsidering recycled water supply from its upgraded seweragetreatment works. This needs resolve before irrigation designed.
