invitingcyclistslikeyoutohelpusdemonstratewhatthe
worldlookslikewhenmostfolksareridingabike.Therell be fun, games
and knowledge exchange.
Workshops on rural cycling safety, cycle-touring, and
bike economics. Guided rides, bike-powered film,
musical&spokenwordperformances,photoexhibits,art
showsandauctions,cyclingdemonstrations,evenaone-

Salt Springs winding, often shoulderless, and
relativelytraffic-freeroadsmakeforgreatcycling.
Still, unfamiliar terrain and non-conforming rural
roads introduce newrisksfor visiting cyclistsand
motoristsboth.
Asinglepieceofadvice?Pleasesharetheroad.
Motorists can driveabit slower;Cyclists can ride
single file. When we all respect the rules of the
roadeveryonebenefits!
THEVELOVILLAGEBIKEFERRYMAKEBCCYCLINGHISTORY!
On Saturday, June 23rd at 10:00 am, the first
bicycle-only ferryin BCcoastalhistorywillsetsail
fromSwartzBay(nearVictoria).
Forthenext35minutes,400cyclistswillhavea
chancetopartydowntothemusicofSaltSprings
very own Fabulous Flakes, rub shoulders with
specialguestsandloosenupforacycle-rrific15kmFUNRIDEfromFulfordVillagetooureventhubin
Ganges.
The FUN RIDE route will be decorated and
dedicated for use by cyclists. Well have
encouragementstations,trafficcontrolfolks,Cycle
buddies and crazy hand painted bikes to help
flatten out the hills and optimize your pedal
