Thursday, 22 February 2018 Gullen Range Wind Farm Grants Free Household Waste Drop Off To coincide with Clean Up Australia Day, Council is offering free disposal of household goods at its waste management centres from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sunday, 4 March 2018. The Shire’s waste management centres will accept domestic waste, recyclables, automotive oil, garden organics and batteries free of charge. However, items of interest will not be stockpiled for people to scavenge. The following items will not be accepted: chemicals, paints, pesticides, poisons, cooking oil, unknown liquids, smoke detectors, gas bottles and fire extinguishers; tyres; and asbestos. If you have any asbestos to dispose of, you will need to contact Council beforehand to make a booking. Please note, asbestos can only be accepted at the Crookwell waste management centre and there are costs associated with disposal. Due to the recycling costs associated with recycling mattresses, Council will still charge $35 per mattress on the day. The Taralga and Collector centres are only able to accept small household waste. Large items, such as furniture, can be taken to Crookwell and Gunning. For more information about the free household waste drop off or to make a booking for asbestos disposal, please contact Council’s Operations Division on 4830 1000. Determinations Issued Between 1 and 31 January 2018 The Gullen Range Wind Farm Community Fund Funding Round (in the amount of $71,038.00) will be open for applications from Tuesday, 20 February 2018 and close at 4.00pm on Friday, 13 April 2018. The Gullen Range Wind Farm Community Fund aims to support initiatives that strengthen the local community through projects that contribute to neighbouring communities within 10kms of the wind farm. The guidelines and application form are available on Council’s website: www.upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au. Gullen Range Wind Farm Grants
