Gullen Range Wind Farm Grants

Free Household Waste Drop OffTo coincide with Clean Up Australia Day, Council is offeringfree disposal of household goods at its waste managementcentres from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sunday, 4 March 2018.The Shire’s waste management centres will accept domestic waste, recyclables, automotive oil, garden organics and batteries free of charge. However, items ofinterest will not be stockpiled for people to scavenge.The following items will not be accepted: chemicals,paints, pesticides, poisons, cooking oil, unknown liquids, smoke detectors, gas bottles and fire extinguishers; tyres; and asbestos. If you have anyasbestos to dispose of, you will need to contact Councilbeforehand to make a booking. Please note, asbestos canonly be accepted at the Crookwell waste management centre and there are costs associated with disposal.Due to the recycling costs associated with recycling mattresses, Council will still charge $35 per mattress onthe day.The Taralga and Collector centres are only able to acceptsmall household waste. Large items, such as furniture, canbe taken to Crookwell and Gunning.For more information about the free household waste dropoff or to make a booking for asbestos disposal, please contact Council’s Operations Division on 4830 1000.
