Cadets with zero-demerits were

honored at the Renaissance

award ceremony and dinner in

May. Cadets were treated to a

steak dinner served by Admiral

Burhoe, COL Williamson and the

company TAC Officers. Behind the

scenes, COL Fender cooked the

steaks, and Commandant Dept.

staff served the dinners and

desserts. A special dinner fit for

our deserving Renaissance cadets.

Cadets seem happy to “give orders” for a change!

On April 23, Cadet Zimu Li and CPT. Gottschalk

traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to attend the FIRST

Robotics World competition. Over 81 countries

were represented at the four day event and Cadet

Li was invited as a Deans List finalist for that award.

All of the finalists were acknowledged during the

opening ceremony. Cadet Li was honored by an

exclusive luncheon with Dean Kamen, the founder

of FIRST Robotics. Li was encouraged with his visit

as the new microcomputer was revealed for the

2015-2016 season.
