Dear church family,

Happy October! I love this time of year. The air turns crisp and cool. Football is infull play and if you don’t like football, there is the walk in the woods or aroundyour yard with the trees all pretty withtheir dresses of red and gold. There issomething, too, about the food we enjoyin the fall such as pork BBQ, stews, chili, hot dogs and healthy foods like pumpkin, apples, pomegranate, spaghetti squash, etc. To each is their own reasons why theylike October, but there are very few peopleI know who don’t like October. Octoberhere at United Love will be full ofactivities. We will have the Lord’s Supperalong with many churches all over theworld on the first Sunday of October. Weare looking to have a workshop for parentson vaping this month. Right now a date isnot fixed for this. We will be feeding theCentral Cabarrus football team andcheerleaders on October 18. We will haveour Fall Family Fun event on October 20which will be activities, food, and musicwhich will all be outside, weatherpermitting. This will be for everyone in thechurch to come to. Bring chairs to sit in orget one from the fellowship hall. All will befun but the fellowship will be the best.

October Sundays will not only deal withthe Lord’s Supper, but also a sermon onthe wind and fire in the church and howwe can have that wind and fire in ourchurch. Just in time for Halloween is asermon on taking off the mask. It’s onlyscary when we are wearing masks that say

we are Christian and we are not living thatfaith. It is scary to hear what Jesus had to sayabout this.

I hope you will support all the activities wewill be having and enjoy the fall season atUnited Love Baptist Church. Bring a friend, too.

Happy fall!

Everyone mark your calendars! Sunday, October 20from 4-7 p.m., we will be enjoying music and s’moresaround the campfire! Well actually, around the firepits! We are in need of two portable fire pits for ourFall Family Fun event for this evening. Please see me ifyou can help us in this area.

We are looking to have hayrides along with relayraces, corn hole, a pumpkin decorating contest andsome good homemade chili with a selection of hotdogs/chicken nuggets for those who don’t particularlylike chili. And of course, what’s a fall event withoutsweets?

In an effort to be good stewards of our resources andprovide tasty fare, we are asking our folks to sign up toshare their favorite chili or desserts. Sign up sheetswill be in the sanctuary.

Another way for you to contribute (and serve) ourcommunity, the Community Blood Bank will have theirbloodmobile at our church from 3 – 5:30 p.m. on thisday. Make sure you sign up to donate blood, too! Allwho give will receive a t-shirt as a token ofappreciation from the folks at the Community BloodBank.

We look forward to a great time of fun and fellowshipwith our church family and our community, so inviteyour friends and family! Don’t forget to bring a chairto sit around the fire!

Please note: Due to the various activities we will haveon the grounds, we are asking that there be nocostumes for the safety of our guests. Children will gohome with a goody bag!
