The four young musicians have been favorites of both David Fricke from Rolling Stone (US) and Kieron Tyler from MO(UK). Speaking of these live shows and of the present release there is no way around it: Thee Attacks is a new significant playin rock. Period. With a vocal register that expands from the completely intimate to the explosively aggressive, Jimmy Attackdelivers a soulful vocal lecture with a raw and weathered knowledge about life, which impregnates the nocturnal universe thsurrounds the lyrics. It centers on sex, dysfunctional love, one-night stands and big city night life, but its written and playedwith an enormous authenticity.

All of this is percolated through a band of four young men with great musical qualifications and a sky high ambition for playinRock with a capital R. In agreement with these raw ambitions, Dirty Sheets was produced by eccentric ber-producer LiamWatson(The Kills, White Stripes, Datsuns etc.) and Jesper Reginal (Junior Senior, Powersolo, etc.) in the legendaryToe Rag studio in London and Copenhagen-based Kondi Frost studio.

The core of the album is a 14-song session from 19with Buddy Cole and His Dixieland Orchestra, recorded for Bings daily CBS radio show. TIME magazine called it a masters lureadings of the American songbook. Here theyre augmented by two previously unissued selections from that daily radio show featurBuddy Cole and His Trio. At first blush, this batch of Red Jacket Mine songs seems

more like a product of England in the aftermath of punk,

when angry young men such as Graham Parker, Joe

Jackson, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, and Messrs. Difford

and Tilbrook of Squeeze spilled out of the pubs and

elbowed their way into the UK charts. But pay closer

attention. Trust me, it isn't hard. Someone Else's Cake

brims with melodies and lyrics that reveal new, deeper

charms with repeated spins.
