Tybee Island

Tybee Island is a nostalgic paradise where people live, do business and visit year round. It is Georgia’s northern-most barrier Island and is rich in history and atmosphere while remaining true to its heritage. Tybee is approximately 2½ miles by ¾ mile and is easily walkable, but bicycle, scooter and electric car rentals are available.

Historically known as “the people’s beach,” Tybee is the ideal location for recreation and relaxation with plenty of family activities. Residents and guests enjoy the shopping and dining experiences, the beach, kayaking, nature trails, walking and more. Tybee Island is the place to be for that enjoyable laid back beach community atmosphere.

Tybee boasts a plethora of natural and cultural experiences, over 35 cool spots to quench your thirst and satisfy your hunger, and more than 30 shops to fi nd everything you must have from whimsical art to bike racks. Sun worshippers appreciate the extra 1.2 million cubic yards of high quality sand to spread their beach towels out along Tybee’s 4-mile long beach.
