Welcome to the 7th annual Tybee Wine Festival presented by the Tybee Post Theater.

The Tybee Wine Festival is the signature fundraising event for the non-profit Tybee Post Theater. When reopened this summer, the historic Post Theater will be an integral part of our community – enhancing our cultural experience, encouraging and attracting visitors, and improving our quality of life.

When the curtain is raised, the Theater will seat approximately 240 and provide a much-needed performing arts and community venue for the island and its visitors. The Theater will screen first-run, classic and children’s movies, as well as stage plays, music, dance, comedy, storytelling and educational programming for children. It will be available for rental for private events and will be open for community meetings and conferences. The Tybee Post Theater truly will be Tybee Island’s civic center.

A Celebration of Earth & Vine pays homage to the 45th anniversary of Earth Day with an elegant five-course wine

dinner prepared by four celebrity chefs from Tybee and Savannah. They include two of the hottest new food stars,

Mashama Bailey of The Grey and Kyle Jacovino of The Florence. Joining them are Kurtis Schumm of Tybee Island

Social Club and Tybee Island Fish Camp, and Michael Gottlieb, formerly of Gottlieb’s Restaurant and Dessert

Bar, who will be returning to Savannah with several new restaurant concepts. Chef Sarah Fernandez of Culinard, the culinary arts school of Virginia College, prepares the

dessert course. Each of the dishes and the accompanying wines provided exclusively by Gerard Bertrand Wines will

be inspired by Earth Day and presented personally by the chefs and Gerard Bertrand wine expert Brian Liska. A wine-tasting reception precedes the dinner at Tybee’s gorgeous new event space, the Grand Ballroom of the

Tybee Wedding Chapel.

The Art of Pairing is an intimate five-course wine-tasting dinner that pairs the perfect wines with each course, from appetizers through dessert. Kurtis Schumm, the talented co-owner and chef of the Tybee Island Social Club, plans and prepares the dinner. All of the wines are imported by Vintage 59 and come from the Languedoc region of France. Chateau Coupe Roses winemaker Françoise Le Calvez herself will be on hand to present her fine French

wines and sommelier Debra Lewis will guide guests through the courses as she explains the dynamics of each

culinary and wine selection. It’s a wonderfully intimate evening of fine wining and dining at this wildly popular

Tybee restaurant.
