Profession of Faith Nicene C

Christian, in whom do you trust?I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things

visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father

before all worlds:God of God,Light of Light, very God of very God;begotten, not made,

being of one substance with the Father,by Whom all things were made;Who, for us men and for our salvation,

came down from heaven,and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary,and was made man,and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;He suffered and was buried;and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures,and ascended into heaven,and sits on the right hand of the Father;

and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead;Whose kingdom shall have no end.And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life,

Who proceeds from the Father and the Son,Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified,Who spoke by the prophets.

And I believe in one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. And I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen!

We thank you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, for making us fearfully and wonderfully in your image. When we followed the way of the evil one in the Garden of Eden, you did not leave us to perish in oursins, but instead you rescued us from sin and death. We thank you, Father, that when we celebrate this memorial meal, youremember the holy life of your Son lived for us, his death offered for us, his resurrection that gives life

In your mercy, remember your covenant by pouring oyour Holy Spirit upon us, that the bread we break and the cup we bless may be for us a communion inthe body and blood of Christ, that we may become one in him.

And we heartily ask Yto grant that we may receive Him and partake of Him in true faith, now and forever, and be sonourished by His Flesh and Blood that we may be set free from all evil, and increase daily in algoodness, to Your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

Go therefore and disciple all the natiby baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, by teaching them to observe athat I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

saiah 51.9-16 9

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it nyou who cut Rahab in pieces, that pierced the dragon?

10Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the grea

deep, who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?11

And the ransomed of the LORD shalreturn and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy,and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

12"I, I am he who comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who

dies, of the son of man who is made like grass,13

and have forgotten the LORD, your Maker, who stretched out theheavens and laid the foundations of the earth, and you fear continually all the day because of the wrath of theoppressor, when he sets himself to destroy? And where is the wrath of the oppressor?

14He who is bowed down sh

speedily be released; he shall not die and go down to the pit, neither shall his bread be lacking.15

I am the LORD yoGod, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar- the LORD of hosts is his name.

16And I have put my words in your

mouth and covered you in the shadow of my hand, establishing the heavens and laying the foundations of the earth

and saying to Zion, 'You are my people.'"

Colossians 1.9-149

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledof his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

10so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing t

him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.11

May you be strengthened with allpower, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy,

12giving thanks to the Father, who

qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.13

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness antransferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,

14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Matthew 7.13-2913

"Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enterit are many.

14For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

15"Beware

false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.16

You will recognize them btheir fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

17So, every healthy tree bears good fruit,

the diseased tree bears bad fruit.18

A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.19

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

20Thus you will recognize them by the

fruits.21

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the wimy Father who is in heaven.

22On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and

cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'23

And then will I declare to them, 'I neveknew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'

24"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and doe

them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.25

And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the windsblew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

26And everyone who hear

these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.27

And the raifell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it."

28

when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching,29

for he was teaching them as one

who had authority, and not as their scribes.
