    Why We Ride

    By David Peterson

I went to see the movie "Why We Ride" last nightin Larkspur and it appeared to be an all biker

audience! Anyone living here would enjoy seeingall the locations we ride in Southern California

and a few familiar faces too.

I recognizedMert Lawwillof Tiburon because I

met him with my dad at the Oregon AntiqueClub's annual chapter awards dinner and ride. I

thought there could have been many more racers

and bike guys included in the movie from ahistorical viewpoint. This was especially apparent

for the Indian and Harley riders which werediscussed for quite some time.

I found the lack of name calling highly unusual.Like Perkins and Jones when they coveredEdKretzthe Iron Man. I saw number 33 Bill Brownell

in the old footage several times! For instance, a

funny man in the film talked about Brando's film"The Wild Ones" but didn't mention the Booze

Fighters or go off on it.

The film started really grabbing your attention asit slowly pulled you into a trance around a selectfew, but lacked enough action, riding, individual

biographies, and bike events. They didn't even

show Kenny Roberts on his one mile dirt biketh h th f t d hi l ti

I felt like there was too much

    and the soundtrack needed m

movie lacked enough entertatoo narrow for the amount ofeasily could have been in the

more focus on history would together leaving the viewer toit was a really great movie!

There were lots of fun storieshow great riding is and some cinematography was excellen

the film and was glad I got to

I would recommend this film bikes since we don't have ma

    motorcycles. "On Any Sunday
