Compliance – When EN 14439 Isn’t EnoughEnhanced measures for NYC instigated by the Mayor include: A thorough review of the crane installation, operation and maintenance to include all
repair, testing and inspection records A thorough Documented record of the Third Party NDT of the crane’s structural welds,
inspection of mechanical, electrical and control components. (Electrical power to be connected by NYC DoB licensed electrician).
Trained personnel to erect and maintain tower cranes with demonstrable and effective lift plans and maintenance regimes
Submission of a ”Crane Component Checklist” which confirms provenance (5 years of history)and identifies which elements are provided by the OEM or not. It also seeks to confirm that the crane was never involved in a flood
OEM maintenance regime covering daily, weekly and periodic checks and by whom A revision of ASME/ANSI B30.3 to take account of these improvements

Compliance – WOLFFKRAN’s Response First response – listen to the customer –
understand what is important: Speed and a fly jib
Development of a range of high speed, high duty hoist winches, with speeds approaching 220m/min
The fixed fly jib was also developed and was in operation at WTC3. Predominantly used for tandem lifting in tight streets
WTC3 needed a reduced tail swing due to operational constraints, achieved with the use of steel counter weights
Full prototype submission to the NYC Department of Buildings
