Van Driver: Driver/Van Driver for Friends Outside Make a difference! Each Visitor Center has a Van Driver who is responsible for assisting clients with local travel in order to visit incarcerated friends and family at the institution. The Van Driver plans, provides information and drives a passenger van in the local area and on institution grounds. He/she reports to the Visitor Center Program Director. This is a part time position, working weekends and all major holidays. Friends Outside is an organization founded in 1955 by Quakers in the traditions of respect, nonviolence and social justice. We have been working inside California state prisons since 1971. We provide evidence-based jail and prison rehabilitation programs, long and short term reentry support, Criminals and Gang Members Anonymous meetings, family support through institution Visitor Centers, and advocacy for children of incarcerated parents through the "Bill of Rights for Children of Incarcerated Parents”. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. California Department of Motor Vehicles Class A or B license, with passenger endorsement. A Motor Vehicles Class C license is required to transport passengers in a vehicle that is designed to carry less than 15 passengers. (Required class of license changes per institution) Must provide a DMV (H-6) driving record containing no DUI convictions within the past five years, and no moving violations within the last three years. Home Inspector: Inspectors primarily complete residential home inspections, using proprietary inspection software, for homeowners and others involved in real estate transactions. Additional inspections include wood destroying organisms inspections, mold screenings and commercial inspections. The purpose of the inspection process is to provide clients with unbiased and non-threatening information they need as they make significant decisions regarding the condition of their existing or future home.
