Every October, Deltek identifies and assesses the top 20 federal contract opportunities for the new fiscal year.
The FY 2016 Top 20 opportunities total contract value is more than $231 billion, consisting of prime contract opportunities from a variety of agencies and industry segments.
This report reveals key trends and patterns in the procurements as compared to prior years to assist vendors in their business development.

For the first time since fiscal year 2010, the value of top civilian opportunities is more than the combined value out of Defense agencies. The combined value of the nine top civilian opportunities is $154B.
FY 2016’s total combined value of the eleven top Defense opportunities is $77B, almost $34B less than last year.
Civilian opportunities represent 67% of the FY 2016 Top 20 total contract value

There are three opportunities considered to be new requirements in this year’s top 20 opportunities. FirstNet NPSBN and Pro-Tech and both are out of the Department of Commerce, and JE-RDAP is out of the Department of Defense.
Of the 17 follow-on solicitations expected, eight have a single incumbent.

At a Glance SummaryEnterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) is planned to be the new contract vehicle offering telecommunications and IT solutions. EIS is designed to provide continuity for the Networx and the Regional Local Telecommunications Services contracts as they expire and to meet the demand for new and emerging services.
