Year of Mercy - “Mercy is the gospel stories of the prodigal son, the woman caught in adultery, Matthew the unscrupulous tax collector and Peter, the denier. The forgiveness they receive does not condone them in their selfishness. They are not condoned, but redeemed.” – Mike

Jordan Lasky, Young Voices NCDonline.org

VOCATION VIEW – We are like the lost sheep when we have not found our place in life. Are you part of the herd, lost from the herd, or a leader of the herd? Pray for Vocations. To talk about your vocation, call the Vocation Office 3324 3351

HUMOUR – The customs officer at the airport asked Paddy if he had

anything to declare. “Only this bottle of Holy Water from

Lourdes.” The officer was interested and asked to see it. When

Paddy produced it, the officer removed the cork and put his nose

to the bottle. “That’s not water,” he said grimly. “That’s whisky!”

“Mother of God!” exclaimed Paddy, “It’s another bloomin

miracle.”

ENTRANCE HYMN

BE MERCIFUL

Be merciful, be merciful, just as God is merciful to you. Answer evil with good, answer hatred with love. Be merciful as God is merciful.

As a tender father, God is merciful; as a loving mother, God is merciful, slow to anger, and full of compassion.

Show compassion to the lost and forgotten; give comfort to the sick and the dying. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Share your riches with the hungry and homeless, and advocate for those in prison. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

GLORIA Glory to God in the highest, and on earth

peace to people of good will.

We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you we give you thanks for your great glory. Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, only begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.

For you alone are the holy one, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the most high, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen MEMORIAL ACCLAMATION When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again. LAMB OF GOD

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, Grant us peace.

COMMUNION HYMN

PRAYER OF ST FRANCIS

Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring your love, Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord. And where there’s doubt, true faith in you.

Make me a channel of your peace. Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope. Where there is darkness only light, And where there’s sadness, ever joy.

Oh, master, grant that I may never seek, So much to be consoled as to console, To be understood as to understand, To be loved, as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace. It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned, In giving of ourselves, that we receive, And in dying, that we are born to eternal life.

RECESSIONAL HYMN

BE MERCIFUL

Be merciful, be merciful, just as God is merciful to you. Answer evil with good, answer hatred with love Be merciful as God is merciful.

And, as Jesus taught us, love your enemies, do good to the ones who hate you. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Offer blessings to the ones who curse you, and pray for the ones who abuse you. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Clothe yourselves in love and compassion; Be forgiving as God has forgiven you. Do to others as you would have them do to you.
