************************************************************************** SPECIAL REQUEST FROM THE ROSE OF SHARON SOUP KITCHEN & THRIFT STORE The holidays are quickly approaching, and we will soon be in need of turkeys for the soup kitchen as well as for our food box ministry. We typically do 120-130 food boxes at Christmas and will need an additional 25 turkeys for the soup kitchen. We also do Christmas gifts for children and for the homeless. If you would like to help with this, please just buy a toy or something a homeless person can use to stay warm with, (blanket, socks, flashlight w/batteries, backpack, coat, or gloves) and wrap it, and bring it to the soup kitchen by Dec 15th. This very well-operated ministry is on the North Parkway access road (east side – north of Oakwood) ~ Most of their financial & food donations come in from Nov-Jan. This time of year, their finances and food are close to being depleted. Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated. All prayers are welcome! CHUCKLE FOR TODAY: This happened to an Englishman in France who was totally
drunk. The French policeman stops his car and asks the gentleman if he has been drinking. With great difficulty, the Englishman admits that he has been drinking all day,
that his daughter got married in the morning to a French man, and that he drank champagne and a few bottles of wine at the reception and a quite few glasses of single
malt thereafter.
Quite upset, the policeman proceeds to alcotest (breath test) him and asks the Englishman if he knows under French law why he is going to be arrested. The
Englishman answers with humor: "No, sir, I do not! But while we're asking questions, do you know that this is a British car and my wife is driving ... on the other side?"
