Principal’s Message Dear Parents and Guardians,

I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the many and varied tasks that our staff

undertook during the most recent school holidays.

For our students, the school holidays are a �me to relax and spend �me with family and

friends. This is the same for our teachers but they also have many work related

expecta�ons that need to be completed before they return to work for a new term.

Teachers use the school holiday period to plan for the coming term, prepare classroom

resources and complete the professional reading necessary to extend their own

professional learning.

The school holidays are a �me when schools complete repairs and upgrades to the

facili�es that we are unable to complete while students are on the school grounds.

During the most recent school holiday break the following work was completed at

Thomastown PS:

• Upgrade of emergency exit light system

• Upgrade of ligh�ng control system in senior school building

• Repairs to automa�c flush system in boys’ toilet

• Repairs to damaged toilets in girls’ toilets

• Rehousing of two computer hubs

• Delivery of new furniture

• General maintenance of school grounds

Planning has already begun in prepara�on for works to be completed on the school

grounds during the June/July school holiday. At this �me work will be undertaken to

replace storm water drains and damaged footpaths.

PE Report 1. The winner of the Excellence in PE award for week ending 14th April was Prep V.

2. Futsal Tournament for Grades 4/5’s & 5/6’s is being held at the Futsal Stadium on

Monday 2nd May (4/5S) and Tuesday 10th May (5/6). Notices will be going home

tomorrow.

3. Reminder that Cross Country Training will be held Mondays 8:40-9am and Wednesday

and Thursday 1:30-1:50pm.

ANZAC Appeal ANZAC Day is a day when we remember the service and

sacrifice of all Australian servicemen and women from every

conflict, past and present.

Each year we show our support for the members of the

Australian and Allied Defence Forces and their dependents

by selling items such as badges, pens and wristbands.

This year the items are priced from $2 - $10 and these will be

available for purchase from this Monday 18th April.
