Mary grove Camp The Society of St. Vincent de Paul,
Toronto Central Council, helps
over 1,000 girls each summer,
registering eligible campers
through home visits. The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, Toronto Central
Council advised that there is simply no scenario where we
can conduct camp programming safely this summer while
respecting Public Health requirements for physical
distancing. This decision was made after much deliberation, assessing the
nature of the pandemic, the potential serious impact on our
campers and staff, consideration for the challenges our
funders are facing and with expert information accessed
through the Ontario Camps Association.
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR PRIEST: FRIDAY JUNE 19TH
A PRAYER FOR OUR PRIESTS We thank you, God our Father, for
those who have responded to your call to priestly ministry.
Accept this prayer we offer on their behalf: Fill them with the sure knowledge of your love.
Open their hearts to the power and consolation of the Holy Spirit. Lead them to greater union with
your Son. Increase their faith in the
Sacraments they celebrate as they nourish, strengthen and heal us.
Lord Jesus Christ, through the intercession of St. Jean Vianney, grant that your priests will be
inspired to strive for holiness by the power of his example.
As men of prayer, may they ponder your word, follow your will and faithfully lead the flocks you have
entrusted to their care. St. Jean Vianney, obtain for the Church an abundance
of vocations to the holy priesthood. Through your intercession, may many faithful men hear Christ’s
call, and respond with courage and generosity.
Mary our Mother, guard with your maternal care these chosen ones. Intercede for our priests, so that by offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, they may be conformed more each day to the image of your
Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
ST. JEAN VIANNEY, patron of parish priests, pray for us! Taken from the Knights of Columbus Prayer Card

My dear brothers and sisters,
I greet you in the name of our Risen lord Jesus Christ.
When we began the year 2020, who would have though that this is how things would unfold throughout
the entire world? When we began the Lenten season, who would have thought that Easter would be part
of an extended period of anxious waiting instead of rejoicing Three months have passed since we found
ourselves in a darkness of the upper room with fear, not of the Jews, but of the ravaging fire of COVID 19.
But we are a people of hope, and our hope has helped us pull through. Romans 5:5 says “but hope is not
unfounded, because the love of God is poured forth in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been
given to us.”
With the announcement of Cardinal Thomas Collins Our Archbishop, about the serious task that was
undertaken by the Bishops of Ontario and the Provincial government to determine a timeline and
guidelines pertaining to the reopening of our churches, we can now ‘breathe a sigh of relief’. What was
chocking our desire to celebrate together, is slowly letting go.
However, we are to go through this cautiously since COVID 19 HAS NOT YET LOST its GRIP. It is real and
still here. And if we let it, it will reappear with full force and will be too strong to contain. We have to have
a series of prudent judgements in the way we do things.
This Corpus Christi Sunday, June 14th the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, a very
special celebration in the church calendar, and even more special day for our parish, since it is
usually the day we have First Communion for our young people, we will have our church open
for private prayer and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Since there will still the Livestream Mass from the Cathedral with the CARDINAL, and other Livestream
sources in the morning hours, we will have the church open at 1.00 pm up until 4.00 pm for private prayer
and adoration.
We will use the main entrance and exit through the door on the south side of the church
NOW: There is work going on in the church area and the parish hall as we prepare to accommodate some
people in the parish hall so that we may meet the capacity requirements as regulated by Provincial
government, bearing in mind the need for safe distancing.
This Monday, June 15th and Tuesday, June 16th the church will open for private prayer from
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 17th we will celebrate the Mass as usual at 7.30 pm
Thursday, June 18th Mass will be celebrated at 8.30 in the morning
On Friday, June 19th: The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Two Masses will be
celebrated: The 1st will be morning mass at 8.30 and then Mass at 7.30 in the evening.
On Saturday, June 20th we will have mass at 9.00 am for the Memorial of the Immaculate
Heart of Mary
The Sunday Masses will resume next weekend at the regular times
Because of the limitation of 30% of what the church can hold and what the hall can accommodate, not
everybody will get a chance to attend the mass. That may be a cause of discomfort and disappointment
and especially after the three months hunger for the Eucharist and other sacraments.
But this space limitation of 6 feet apart, is intended to make sure that we do not expose ourselves to the
virus again as we try to care not just for ourselves but also and especially for our brothers and sisters. The
church floor and the pews are marked with signs that will show where one can be and besides, there will
be people assigned to guide the members of the congregation.
Once the church is 30% of the capacity we will use the parish hall (hopefully it will be ready with the live-
broadcasting equipment) to enable those who will be there to follow the mass live.
Remember also that the channels that were providing livestream masses like St. Michael’s
Cathedral Basilica will still be doing that. Do not feel guilty if you cannot attend mass at
the parish at this time. The cardinal has the Sunday Obligation dispensation still in force
until such a time that everybody will have the chance to attend Sunday Mass.
If anyone needs to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation, we will be directed to an area with enough
space, with an option of a screen if they want to remain behind the screen, and also the option of a face
to face celebration.
We will go with the first come first serve option in order to avoid any overlaps in the process. We are
working with the re-opening committee in order to assess what will work more efficiently in our pastoral
situation.
We are now used to wearing masks and I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for protecting
oneself but most important for protecting our neighbour.
After places and businesses began to open up, there has been a tendency of acting as if the virus was
gone. It is not gone and in some places the spikes are coming up high. We still have to take all the
necessary precautions to protect ourselves and each other.
At this point in time, we will also avoid the touching and kissing of statues and pictures in the church or
outside. This is again another precautionary measure.
Our music will be quite low key. We will not have the choirs during our celebrations, only a soloist with a
player of a musical instrument.
Again, the congregation is advised not to sing, since singing may be a way of spraying germs that may have
invaded our bodies.
May I welcome you back to your church.
Let’s do what we can, the best way we can, and pray that time will come when we will gather together
again without the current restrictions or any other restriction at all.
God bless you all.
Fr. Colman
