The PSCC Pool & Spa Construction Course is for novice and experienced pool builders, as well as designers who need to know more about pool and spa construction, this 24 hour course takes you through the APSP Builders Manual and gives you what you need to know to conform to industry standards. The course covers all types of pool and spa water feature construction, and reviews the construction process in detail from design to pool and spa start-up. This course is an excellent preparation for the CBP Certified Building Professional® exam (offered Tuesday, November 10).

Registrants for the course receive a copy of the APSP Builders Manual and Pool & Spa Construction Workbook. A physical address is required for shipment of materials. Registrations received after October 30, and international registrants will receive their materials onsite.

APSP CST Certified Service Technician® Course

The APSP CST Certified Service Technician® Course program is for those with at least 1-2 years of experience in pool and spa service and repair. The course is approximately 40 hours in length and the exam requires the ability to apply your technical knowledge to situations encountered in the field. The APSP Service Tech Manual is the textbook for this course. Qualified individuals may take the CST Certified Service Technician® exam on Tuesday, November 10.

Registration for the CST exam is included in your registration fee. The CST exam is presented in an open-book, multiple choice format and is given on Tuesday, November 10 from 2-5 p.m. Many students also find the CST program to be a useful preparation for taking the CSP Certified Service Professional® exam.

The word escape conjures up two images: getting away from an undesirable situation (such as the scorching heat of summer and the relentless stress of modern life) and moving to something better (such as taking a refreshing dip in a pool and relaxing in a soothing spa or hot tub).

Both apply to APSP’s new marking campaign. As for the industry itself, Escape’s overarching goal will be to further spur its recovery following the deep recession that began in 2008. APSP hopes the campaign will enable the industry to escape from the sales doldrums and move to a more robust business climate. The Escape campaign is a great start for reintroducing American consumers to the desirability of owing a pool, spa or hot tub.

Through Escape, the industry will being to show consumers it doesn’t cost as much as they think to own a pool or spa; that outfitted properly, pools and spas can actually be quite thrifty when it comes to water usage; and that there are a wide range of benefits — both physical and emotional — that come from being a pool, spa or hot tub owner.
