What I leant about premiere?

Premiere was a completely new software to me. I found it very difficult to begin but in time, I learnt new skills and tools. I practised when making our preliminary video so I knew exactly how to work it. I frequently asked our teachers and other students questions so I could get a better understanding. I learnt many cool tools such as transitions and visual effects.

Importing

Importing clips into Premiere is very easy.

By going onto the media browser at the bottom left of your premiere page you can choose videos, audio and photos to put into your sequence. You can drag the ones you selected onto the timeline and then begin editing.

Timeline

On your timeline you can change the order of your sequence. I leant how to overlap audio with clips and how to cut out different clips. By holding down command and B, you could open the blade tool to cut out unwanted footage.

Transitions

By using transitions, you could cross, fade in or fade out different clips. This would depend on what genre you are doing.

For me, using fade to black was good as darkness if often associated with horror and the unknown.

Effects

With effects you can put a visual colour effect over the top of your footage. I learnt how to do black and white and other effects. It adds to the video really well.

There are other effects you can use like editing the colour/sharpness/brightness and contrast.

Exporting

Exporting is also very simple. It gives you options about what to call your video and what format you want it.
