COME PRAY WITH US We pray Morning Prayer at 7:15 am and the Rosary at 7:30 am Monday thru Saturday in the Church before

Mass. We would love for you to join us.

Sunday, June 23 is the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi). There will be a procession after each Mass this weekend.

Our daily Mass on Thursday, July 4, will be at 9 AM to allow more of us to pray together for our country on its Independ-ence Day. There will be NO Adoration on the 4th of

July. The Parish Office will be closed on the 4th of July Due to the holiday, there is an early deadline of June 26 for the July 7 bulletin.

MATCHING FUNDS! An anonymous donor has pledged up to $12,000 in matching funds for new carpet in our school! In addi-tion to class Monday through Friday, our classrooms are used by other parish groups for meetings and clas-ses in the evenings and on weekends. Each gift made will be doubled up to a total of $12,000. New carpet will be a fresh improvement to our busy classrooms. Dona-tions to this project can be dropped off or sent to either the School or Parish office, marked, “Classroom Car-pet”. Thank you.

CAN YOU SPEND ONE HOUR WITH ME? Jesus asked His Apostles, “Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?” This is a beautiful way to spend quiet time in the pres-ence of our Lord. Hours for exposition are: 12 noon to 5:00 pm, Thursdays.

Each month Bishop Cotta puts out a “Bishop’s Reflection” with his thoughts, plans for the diocese, and other infor-mation he wishes to share with us. It is available at: https://stocktondiocese.org/bishop-cottas-monthly-reflections

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION We owe today’s beautiful feast to a valiant woman who suffered a great deal to establish a feast out of her love for the Eucharist. Juliana was a nun in Belgium in the thirteenth century. She served in a hos-pital for lepers. She became convinced through her prayer that the liturgical year was incomplete because it had no feast for the Eucharist. Her efforts were not wel-come, and a supervising priest sought to punish her for promoting a feast that “nobody wanted.” He even had her accused of financial mismanagement and banished her from her convent. Shortly after she was exiled, the bishop ap-proved the feast. It quickly spread through Europe. In those days, people very seldom received Holy Com-munion, and so the processions through the streets with the eucharistic bread not only led to an awareness of Christ’s hunger to be with us, but prepared the way for a deeper desire to receive Christ’s Body and Blood in more frequent Communion. The feast grew rapidly, but Juliana disappeared into poverty and a hidden life. She ended her days as an “anchoress,” a woman living in seclusion in a room attached to a parish church. Im-agine her delight at seeing us gathered at the table of the Lord on this day, aware of Christ’s presence in our midst, sharing fully in Christ’s Body and Blood. Our cel-ebration today invests her struggle and sorrows with dignity and meaning. —James Field, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

THE EUCHARIST Just as the bread, which is made from the earth, when God is invoked is no longer common bread but the Eucharist, both earthly and heavenly, so our bodies, after we have received the Eucharist, are no longer corruptible, since they hold the hope of the resurrection. —St. Irenaeus

— 1 Corintios 11:26

LECTURAS DE HOY Primera lectura — Melquisedec sacó pan y vino y bendijo a Abram (Génesis 14:18-20).

—San Ireneo
