“Reliving the Narratives”
We are progressively getting
closer to the end of our journey
through Lent. In a very short
amount of time we will begin
intentionally “Reliving the
Narratives” associated with the
significant actions of Jesus Christ during his final
moments in his earthly journey. As we embark upon
this final leg of the Lenten journey, let us progress
with anticipation of the great celebration of life on
Resurrection Sunday, without losing site of the
other significant narratives setting the stage for this
grand celebration.
Before we can celebrate a narrative of a risen Savior
we must “Relive the Narrative” of the Christ who
walked with humanity building support of common
everyday people like you an I. We must “Relive the
Narrative” of the Christ who took time to teach,
preach, heal, and deliver those crying out from their
place of need. We must “Relive the Narrative” of
the Christ whose support transitioned to speculation,
speculation to questioning, and “Relive the
Narrative” of the one significant moment where
opposition led to persecution, suffering, crucifixion
and ultimately death.
Although there’s unique and meaningful power
when separately viewing each of the narratives.
When viewed in context with the others, “Reliving
the Narratives” highlight the presence of God at
work in the life of Jesus Christ from the beginning
to the end. It also reminds us of the presence of God
that continues to transcend adversity within our lives
through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
As you look forward, intentionally “Relive all the
Narratives” so you can know who Christ is in your
life!
Philippians 3:10-11 states, “ I want to know Christ
and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of
his sufferings by becoming like him in his death, if
somehow I may attain the resurrection
from the dead.”

Cub Scout Pack 442:
The boys went to their very first camping trip as a pack! We had a
great deal of fun and learned all sorts of great outdoor skills,
including making Dandelion Tea.
Our Blue and Gold Banquet and Awards Ceremony is on April 1 at
6:30 PM , here of course. We will have a ceremony and then a meal. The theme is
camping. You are welcome to join us!
We were very busy in March with our cookie sale.
The Girl Scouts have over 200 boxes of cookies to donate to
the Bethesda Mission.
The girls are excited for the warm weather and hope to get
outside to do some yard cleanup around the church.
We are still working on our Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.
The Daisy’s are working on finishing their Daisy petals.
“Giving Shed”
The board approved a new outreach project , A Giving Shed. Tommy
Kelly, one of our Cub Scouts, will be turning 7 and instead of presents for
himself, he will be collecting funds and supplies to install a Giving Shed on
the porch of the church office. The shed will contain non perishable food,
cleaning supplies and personal care items. Celebration and Kick Off will
“My Free Library”
Our little library that is out in front of the church gets used A LOT. Each
week we are filling it with books, mostly for children. We had a donation of
several Bibles and Christian books a while back, but those have all been
given away! We are in need of more books. Any and all books for Children
and Youth would be appreciated, especially Christian ones. If you would like
to donate new or gently used books please see Diana or place them under
the bulletin board in the Narthex.

“Foot Washing Service”
Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, is
celebrated on the day before Good Friday. Its name was given
on the day on which Jesus celebrated the Passover with His
disciples, known as the Last Supper. The last supper and com-
munion, two important events which are the focus and signifi-
cance of Maundy Thursday.
“So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also
ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example,
that you also should do as I have done to you. Very truly, I tell you,
servants are not greater than their master, nor are messengers
greater than the one who sent them. John 13:14-16”

Highlights from our March 19th Board Meeting
Pastor D. opened our meeting with prayer.
Both Elders and Deaconate have met since the beginning of the year. Responsibilities have been reviewed and a schedule submitted for the first 6 months of the year.
A lot of property repairs have occurred. The furnace has had several steam valves replaced. There is still some water coming in, possibly from the roof. Glenn is also getting bids to paint the outside of the church.
The calendar was briefly reviewed.
It was highlighted that we have had several new members join in the past year. This is very exciting.
We have 6 Baptisms scheduled for Palm Sunday. Baptism robes were discussed. We will need at least 6 and the special robe for the Minister. The board approved us purchasing. It was also recommended we make sure the Baptism certificates are current and if not we purchase those also.
The board directs Diana to write a letter on behalf of First Christian Church to Thad Allen asking Pastor D. be ordained and installed ASAP.
We are hiring a secretary. Pastor D. is filling in while we hopefully find one. Pastor D. pointed out we are expecting a lot of work be done in a small amount of time.
Diana brought up a concern about Pastor D. being part time vs full time. She is definitely not working part time for us. Is this fair? What can we do about it? Also the region questioned why she was not enrolled in the pension fund. At this time it is being dis-cussed and brainstormed. If you have thoughts and ideas please share them with Diana or any board member.
Meeting ended with prayer
