Marija continued from page 1.us in this way for our own faith to grow.Since I was very young, we had Pope JohnPaul II, who was the pope, Totus Tuus. And Pope Benedict XVI is really God’sprovidence for us today. We need to bestrong. And he is like a general, so tough. We pray for him because he feeds usthrough his Catechism, which is reallybeautiful and a deep way of our faith. And how beautiful is it to say that we haveso many beautiful people who are goingbefore us to heaven. We have an examplein Medjugorje, Fr. Slavko. He came toMedjugorje in the beginning. He took OurLady’s messages seriously, and he prayedevery morning, every day. He loved, andhe tried to be joy for Our Lady. He died onCross Mountain one day with pilgrimsmaking the Way of the Cross. And with joy, John Paul II died in holiness.Everyone chanted “Immediately Holy!”Because he was completely Totus Tuus! And there are so many holy people. MotherTeresa, how strong and big she was for us.But she is one of us! John Paul II is one ofus! Fr. Slavko is one of us! But we areweak! And we know that Our Lady toldus, “Fr. Slavko is with me in heaven!” OurLady asks every one of us to be holy.

So I would like to tell you all through this,my testimony, to be holy like Our Lady isholy and she is one of us. God bless you!

coming on December 21, as they say? Theend can come any day, but it seems thatour life depends on the horoscope of theday. But we must learn from those in thepast who trusted God,” Marija said, ac-cording to the local newspaper. “I do notknow what will happen to us, but Godteaches us that without Him there is defi-nitely no future for us. What is a hundredyears if there is no eternal life? We aretoo busy with evil, television and comput-ers, but how much time do we devote toGod?” the seer also said.

“I do not know what will happen tomor-row – but the important thing is to haveyour heart free from anxiety, fear, pain, and live through every test of your lives, remaining steadfast in prayer and love,”Marija added, according to the regionalnewspaper, l’Adige.it.

Marija cited several examples of healing, one about a boy who was in a coma forthree months after a car accident, but woke up without any kind of brain dam-age. “So many times we do not believe inmiracles, but they are there. My testimonyis intended to be a sign of God’s love foryou. We are nobody, I am nobody, but weare here as a sign that Our Lady inter-cedes with God for us,” she said. “OurLady loves you and carries the image ofall of us in her heart, today and tomorrow, because everyone is important to her,”Marija told them.

Marija Speaks to Italians

Wmore attention is paid to horoscopes, vi-sionary Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti told 900people at a prayer meeting on December1, 2012. We are too busy with technologyand evil, and devote too little time to God,Marija added.

Medjugorje visionary Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti took on what she saw as misplacedpriorities and bad use of time in address-ing 900 attendees on Saturday at a prayermeeting in the Grand Theatre in Canazei,Italy.

Annual Message of December 25, 2012 to Jakov Colo

“Dear children, give the gift of your life to me and completely surrender to me so that I may helpyou to comprehend my motherly love and the love of my Son for you. My children, I love youimmeasurably and today, in a special way, on the day of the birth of my Son, I desire to receiveeach of you into my heart and to give a gift of your lives to my Son. My children, Jesus loves youand gives you the grace to live in His mercy, but sin has overtaken many of your hearts and youlive in darkness. Therefore, my children, do not wait, say ‘no’ to sin and surrender your heartsto my Son, because only in this way will you be able to live God’s mercy and, with Jesus in yourhearts, set out on the way of salvation.”

25 attend for three hours; Friday night,Legion of Mary Praesidium in America has30 active members; and, of course, Satur-day, Mass or Communion service followedby Catholic education and RCIA classeswe conduct. We get 80-90 men there. It’sall good stuff! Currently we have six can-didates and catechumens with sponsorsworking toward an after-Easter initiation. We have choir, band, altar server training, and on and on. God holds us close here.

“Anyway, once again—from all of us—thank you so much for your support andcontribution to our community. God blessyou all.”

From Richard: “Prison volunteer BobVinklarek has been coming to the RamseyPrison for 26 years. He has been a dedi-cated volunteer to all the men here, notjust the Catholics. His compassionateteaching of the Gospels and his devotionto Mary after visiting Medjugorje over 27years ago has become a shining exampleof the teachings of Christ.

“He brings the 20 copies of The Med-jugorje Star to us each time you send themto him. He reads the messages from ourMother and then we pray the rosary. Hisgroup has grown from five men to 42 atour record this summer. Bob, through theinspiration of Mary and his experience atMedjugorje, has brought her words ofprayer and love to all those here in prison. Her words of understanding and of ma-ternal love for all her children has brokenopen hearts devoid of such love andbrought dozens of men back to the Church.

“Thank you so much for your generouscontribution of The Medjugorje Star to Boband then to us. We all read it from coverto cover and wish we were paid for ourlabors in here so that we could donate tocover your own expenses. We would love

to respond to Our Lady’s call, but we arealready taxing our families to cover ourmedical expenses. Thank you so much forincluding us in your ministry.

“We are fortunate here at Ramsey to havededicated volunteers without which wewould not have any programs. Bob,touched by Our Mother Mary, has broughta light of understanding and realization ofthe Gospels to the men here at RamseyPrison. We have the only prison Legion ofMary Praesidium in America, and say therosary every day for people like yourselveswho help prisoners. Thank you again forincluding us in your ministry.”

From Brother Rowdy: “I have saved pic-tures from The Medjugorje Star along theway, making new additions to my devo-tional materials that have been a wonder-ful inspiration and will remain with me forlife.”

From Roland: “Thank you so much forthis blessing of The Medjugorje Star. Myfamily enjoys it also.”

From Gary: “God bless you all and yourloved ones. The Medjugorje Star has beenan up-lifting blessing to us men-in-whitefor over two decades. Thank you all foryour time, love and effort in spreading themessage. God bless.”

There are many more notes of thanks fromthese men. Bob Vinklarek certainly is car-rying out the Pope’s request by “promot-ing forms of evangelization and spiritualcare capable of drawing out the most nobleand profound side of the prisoner, awak-ening his enthusiasm for life and his desirefor beauty, so characteristic of people whodiscover anew that they bear within themthe indelible image of God.” And, of course, the Blessed Mother has a big hand in thisevangelization.

ply punish offenders: “It is necessary thatin punishing them, everything possible bedone to correct and improve them. Theytake part in the mission of Christ Himselfwho came to call not the just, but sinners. Many of them are at risk of losing theirsense of life’s meaning and the value ofpersonal dignity.”

To this end we would like to tell you of avolunteer in Ramsey Prison in Rosharon,Texas, through moving letters and thank-you notes from inmates.

From Bill : “On behalf of all the Catholiccommunity at Ramsey, I want to expressour sincere appreciation for your kindnessand generosity. Our Monday night rosarygroup volunteer, Bob Vinklarek, brings TheMedjugorje Star regularly and we read itand discuss many of the articles after ourprayers. By proxy, you and your wholeorganization have been an active part ofour community for years!

“I will tell you that our Church really works‘inside’ here too. Through the dedicationand devotion of so many outside volun-teers who bring the Word of Christ in, wemeet regularly and often. We get to wit-ness our Church at its absolute best. Men’slives are changed in here as many of us,unfortunately, had to find our ‘bottom point’in life to come to the realization that alonewe can’t do it. With Jesus and through ourChurch, life suddenly became meaningfuland purposeful again. And with this, we’veseen families healed and lives changed.

“We are blessed here with a very activeand committed community. Weekly, wehave Monday night rosary, about 40 at-tend for two hours; Friday afternoon, Lit-urgy of the Hours and FTCM class, about

A Lame Girl Healed

Silvia Busi fell very ill at age 16, but all thetests were negative. Silvia found herselfin a wheelchair unable to move her legs.During an apparition where Our Lady wasappearing to the visionary Ivan, not onlywas Silvia healed, but she received the giftof faith. She continued to have some sei-zures and to take medication, but eventu-ally this stopped and she was completelyhealed. She now prays every day to re-ceive the love of God and the Madonnamore into her heart.

The Teenage Atheist!

When Emma Fradd was in high school, she got involved in the party scene. Sherefused to attend Mass and rejected any-thing to do with the Church. At the age of20, she didn’t believe in God at all. Shelived in Australia, but her brother and hiswife lived in Ireland. They invited her tostay with them for three months. Whenshe got there, a priest in Ireland paid forher to go to Medjugorje with the group thather brother was going with. She thought,“I’ll go there and pray and show them thatGod doesn’t exist.” She prayed the prayerswith everyone but emotionlessly. Soon af-ter, her brother went to Canada as part ofhis work with NET missionaries. It washis job to evangelize. Emma went withhim. When she saw the happiness that allthe young people had, she wanted someof it too.

She was tired of pretending to be happyor basing her happiness on false ideals. Sheasked God to give her the same feeling asthese young people. Emma then decidedfor the first time in five years to go to Con-fession. She returned to daily Mass andthe Eucharist. When she returned home, she shared her new found happiness andfaith with her friends, but they did not knowher. They did not like the new Emma. They

stopped talking to her, and this hurt a lot. Itwould have been easier to walk away fromher faith, but she didn’t. She returned toCanada joining with NET ministries. Shenow spends her time not partying but evan-gelizing.

The Countess Who Gave Up All HerRiches

Countess Milona Von Hapsburg visitedMedjugorje with her relatives for threedays when she was in her 20’s. This tripleft a profound impression on her. Itprompted her to give up her high-flying andpampered lifestyle in Geneva to become avolunteer in Medjugorje performing humbletasks like interpreting for Fr. Slavko andthe six visionaries. Milona had a personalencounter with Our Lady on the hill. Shefelt a presence coming around her andcovering her like a mantle. She felt as iftwo eyes were looking deeply into her verysoul. For the first time she saw her entirelife and what it amounted to. There wasno judgment at all, just total truth. Afterthis she felt she had to rid herself of allthat separated her from God.

The Korean Priest

Peter Kim Dae Woo is a parish priest inKorea. He was ordained in 2009 despitehis great desire to become a singer. Hecursed a lot, and music was his wholeworld. He came to Medjugorje, and hebegan to pray the rosary and to attend Massevery day. He lived the five messages ofOur Lady. He would cry during Adora-tion, especially at the sound of the violin. When he returned to Korea, he knewmusic couldn’t be his whole life. That iswhen he knew that he was being called tobecome a priest. If he hadn’t come toMedjugorje, his calling would have neverbeen realized, let alone fulfilled.

The Model Who Gave Up Chanel fora Life of Prayer

Anna Goledzinowaska was from Polandbut was living in Italy. To the outside worldand to her family, she had it all. She hadlooks, a high-paying job and a luxuriousapartment. Her friend was going to Med-jugorje and paid for Anna to go with her. When Anna arrived in Medjugorje, sherealized that she was not happy with herlife. Before this, Anna had an allergy topriests and anything to do with the Church;yet, here she was attending daily Mass. She was so touched with Medjugorje thatshe could no longer find peace with herlife back home. She gave up her job, whichmeant she lost out on a lot of money, andshe stayed in Medjugorje. She is nowhappy that people like her for herself, notfor her money. She gave up her Chanelshoes because they did not “fit” anymore. Her friends and family cannot understandher decision, but she is happier than ever.
