Perspectives from Jim Architectural Proposal Yesterday was a big day with over 120 people gathering in the Fellowship

Hall/Connection Café to learn about an architectural proposal from the

McKnight Group. This proposal, should it be adopted, would increase the

usability and effectiveness of our facility as a ministry tool for the Kingdom

in multiple ways.

Much of our current facility is out of date and out of code, presenting us

with significant challenges. In order for us to be more Christ focused and

outreach oriented, these are issues that we will have to address at some

point. We believe that now may very well be that time. The changes

would make for a warmer and more friendly facility, providing improved

traffic flow and greater handicap accessibility. There would be improved

restroom facilities, greater security with children all in a centralized location,

and far greater energy efficiency and functionality in all areas of ministry.

We have been given much to think about and you have given some valuable feedback as a result. We will be going through your

questions and doing our best to answer them thoughtfully and wisely keeping you fully abreast of direction and developments.

This is just a second or third step in a many step process. What we are convinced of is, that if it is God’s will for us to make this step,

the resources necessary will be available. He has gifted us with more than we may be aware and is able to do far more than we

can possibly ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). We will prayerfully seek wise and godly council each step of the way and we ask you to

join us in prayer.

We can do only so much on our own. What we want to do, however, is something so God-sized that God alone will receive the

glory.

T. J. Britton Makes Unexpected Return to Ethiopia

T. J. & Leah Britton have been home for the summer catching up with family and

snagging a little rest here and there. T. J. was to speak in the A.M. service and

bring a mission update in the evening service, but a medical emergency with one

of the Britton’s co-workers (Jonathan) forced T. J.’s early return.

Among other things the Brittons would have shared with the HCC family, had T. J.

not been called back early, was strategic structural changes in the way the Mission

handles communication and finances, which has been a struggle. Ethan and

Stephanie Magee will be handling written and media updates, which should make

communication better for both the Brittons and supporting churches and individu-

als. Another beneficial change is that all of the financial aspects of His Love Ethio-

pia will now be channeled through HCC, giving us a much better handle of the needs of the Brittons on the field. Please pray

for the Brittons as they return to the field, and the healing of their co-worker, Jonathan.

Summer at the Seaside Concludes with Lakeside Service We’re trying something a little different. In an effort to take advantage of

the days of summer and reach our community in a non-traditional way, on

August 19 we will be concluding our current message series at Rocky Fork

Lake. Join us at 10:30. There will be no A.M. service in town.

This service is structured intentionally as an outreach opportunity for you to

bring a friend or co-worker with you who might not otherwise come to our

intown facility. Our time of worship will conclude with a fish fry and carry-

in. Fish will be provided. We ask you to bring a side or sides and/or dessert

with enough to share. Bring lawn chairs also. There will also be relaxing

and enjoyable activities for the whole family or just sit around under the

Sycamore Grove and enjoy the breeze and the shade. (Maps are availa-

ble at the Welcome Center). Invitations are available at the Welcome Center also - please pick one up and invite a friend!

There will be a chapel service in the evening for those unable to join us at the Lakeside service.

Penny-A-Meal & Jeff Liscik Update the Ministry House: A special thank you goes out to the Penny-A-Meal ministry

for making much needed improvements in the Ministry

House. They provided the funds to replace old and worn

vinyl flooring in the kitchen, bathroom and utility room. They

also provided funds to replace the bathroom sink and cabi-

net.

Jeff Liscik, Brian Milks and Titan Gray of The Ohio Mission Bi-

ble Training Center provided the labor. Jeff led the team

and did an excellent job with all the renovations. The house

will now be much more presentable and functional for our

missionaries when they come home for rest and reporting.

What a blessing this house has been for this kind of hospitali-

ty ministry. We are so blessed to have it and so grateful for

the assistance of Penny-A-Meal & OMBTC for your labor of

love.

MINISTRY TEAM LEADERS/ELDERS/DEACONS We will meet this Sunday, August 5th, right after worship service. Please bring $5.00 to help cover the cost of lunch. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
