Neal began working for the Irvine Fire Department as a junior firefighter. Most recently, he has been over the junior firefighter pro- gram. Neal has also been work- ing part-time at Estill County Emergency Management Agency. He is reportedly on leave without pay as an Irvine fire- fighter. Thacker, 24, of Winchester Road, Irvine, charged with theft by unlaw- ful taking - shoplifting on June 25 by Irvine Chief Brad Smith. The chief said he received a call from the Family Dollar that Thacker had taken five sets of cushions from that business without paying for them. Chief Smith said he went to Thacker’s apartment and located the stolen items in the breezeway. The citation states that Thacker was located and admitted to taking the items valued at $75.00. The items were returned to the store. Smith was then contacted by the manager of North- wood Apartments regarding theft from coin machines in the laundromat. According to the citation, witnesses located Thacker’s keys and cigarettes beside the washing machines. Smith said that Thacker had borrowed a hammer from tenants and had made threats to steal from coin machine to tenants. He had asked to borrow a crow bar. The police chief stated that Thacker had 14.5 600 mg. gabapentin which were not in a prescription contain- er. Thacker was charged with theft by unlawful tak- ing of a coin machine un- der $500, criminal mischief third degree, possession of a controlled substance, third degree, and prescription controlled substance not in proper container. An Estill County warrant was served on Jacob Mi- chael Fox, 20, on June 30 by Beattyville Police Dept. KSP Trooper Toney Al- len had obtained the warrant for Fox’s arrest on a charge of criminal possession of a forged instrument second degree. The warrant states that on April 26, Fox presented a purported proof of employ- ment and income from D&J Construction in order to ob- tain a $500 payday loan. The trooper said he did not find a business called D&J Construction. Sheriff Chris Flynn charged a Wagersville man with a second degree bur- glary on June 30. The sheriff said he was dispatched to 1420 Rice Station Road to investigate a burglary on June 28. On the way, he said he observed Jeffrey Scott Henry, 36, of Wagersville Road, Irvine walking down the road The homeowner, Ran- dall Hall, told Flynn he had seen Henry leaving his resi- dence.. When he went back down the road, Flynn said he did not find Henry. On June 30, he located Henry outside of a U-haul located at 1315 Rice Station Road. He said that Henry had a pocket knife in his posses- sion with Hall’s name on it. Henry allegedly had two prescription bottles with Hall’s name on them. Other charges Henry is facing include receiving stolen property under $500, public intoxication of a con- trolled substance, and theft by unlawful taking of auto $500 or more and under $10,000. .Jimmy Murphy, 41, of Low Gap Road, Irvine was arrested on an Estill warrant on June 27 by Richmond Police Department. The warrant obtained by Sheriff Flynn says on June 4, that Murphy escaped from custody having been charged with a felony. The warrant says Mur- phy was in the courtroom to have his trial set on felony charges. Flynn said he told Murphy that he was under arrest for failure to appear on warrants out of Estill and Fayette counties He was in- structed to stay seated until the felony case was called and he could be taken for processing The warrant says Mur- phy exited the courtroom and left in a vehicle. He now faces a charge of second degree escape. He was lodged in the Madison County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Estill District Court on July 5. He pled not-guilty during his arraignment on June 28. Bail for Murphy has been set at $5,000 cash. Deputy Josh Rison served a warrant June 28 on Bev- erly Barnes, 72, of Church Street, Irvine for failing to appear in Estill District Court. Deputy Rison served a warrant June 27 on Jimmy Draggoo, 56, of Wall Street, Irvine for failing to appear in Estill District Court. Jacob Cain, 20 of Plum Street, Irvine was served with a warrant June 27 by Deputy Rison. He had failed to appear in Estill District Court on charges of public intoxication and drug para- phernalia. On June 26, Deputy Ri- son served a warrant on Deborah Logsdon, 47, of Stacy Lane, Irvine. The warrant was for alleged pro- bation violation on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, leav- ing the scene of an accident, two counts of burglary, theft by unlawful taking from auto, no registration plates, and failure of non-owner to maintain insurance. Aaron Noland, 26, of Tyner, Ky., was served with a warrant on June 26 by Deputy Coffey. Deputy Coffey cited Kourtney Kirby, 30, of Stacy Lane, Irvine with speeding 10 mph over speed limit on KY 52 and no tail lamps. A warrant was served on Billy Metcalf, 51, of Paint Lick on June 26 by Deputy Coffey. Coffey served a warrant June 26 on Dana Jones, 46. Glyndon Isaacs, 57, of Wisemantown Road was ar- rested June 24 and charged with driving under the influ- ence by Deputy Coffey. Albert Shawn Kirby, 40, of Overlook Drive, Ir- vine was served with an ar- rest order June 24 by Sheriff Chris Flynn.
