This weekend the race for the semi finals continues with a number of important matches to be played. The results of the Ourimbah v Toukley game will probably see the looser eliminated from the race whilst the Erina v Terrigal match will be vital to the Erina Clubs chances.Kincumber have a particularly difficult run home having to play The Entrance twice as well as Erina and Wyong so obviously they will need to win at least one or probably two of their remaining 4 games. All of this makes for a very interesting round of rugby league.Good luck to all teams this weekend.Regards,

Fred HartupPresident CCDRL

The Sharks hosted the Toukley Hawks at Shark Park and recorded five good wins as the Firsts consolidated their place in the top five and the Under Nineteens continued their overall improvement. Congratulations to the Opens on recording a win and making your Coaches efforts a little less tiresome.

The Terrigal-Wamberal Ladies League Tag team continued their good form with a 60 - 0 win over Toukley. The Sharks got off to a strong start when Elysia Atkins scored the first of her three tries chasing through a Britt Starr kick. Some slick ball movement saw in form winger Rach Dobbie score next to the posts then again out wide. Rach finished the game with four tries and the Best and Fairest award. The try of the match was scored just before half time when Lisa Ricketts broke through, linking with Casey Youngberry, Lisa then supported back on the inside then got the ball to Rach Curnow who found Elysia who then sent a good pass on to Tara Angell who stepped the fullback and Referee to score under the posts. Other tries were scored by Layne Foster, Lisa and Casey. Britt got Players Player and the two points with Casey and Rach Mortell sharing a point. The Sharks will need to be at their best this week taking on the 2016 premiers Erina. The TWS 19s had another good win against a Toukley Hawks side that showed plenty of character and commitment. The Junior Sharks are playing an exciting brand of rugby league at the moment and are determined to be there when the whips are cracking in late August and September and this result puts them one step closer. The win sets up an interesting contest against competition heavy-weights the Erina Eagles this weekend. Three points went to Jason Little who was dynamic in the centres having his best game for the club so far. The two points went to the ever reliable and hardworking Owen Pearce who was a constant threat on the edge while the one point was shared by captain Sam Collett who continues to lead admirably and Jesse Kamper whose positional play just contin-ues to improve. Big Tom Bateup received the Players Player award and proved a handful for the Hawks defence. The T-W Sharks Open side really put in a gutsy effort with only seventeen players, half of which were already battered and bruised from previous weeks. Everyone stuck to our game plan and really dug deep for each other. To Toukley’s credit they never quit and kept it a really exciting game. Players player was the always hard working Micheal Creamer while the three points went to Nic Sigle who has been amazing at the back for us. The two points went to Jordan Takacs who has plenty of talent and should be playing a higher grade while the one point went to Tony smith who gives our side the X factor in attack. it’s always hard giving out the points when all the boys did everything I had asked of them and played as a team, they all deserve points. The Sharks Reserve grade side completed at eighty five per cent in the first half as they raced in seven tries to set up a commanding lead. The second half while not quite as impressive still resulted in a further six tries and a 72 - 0 scoreline which was the Sharks best performance all year as everyone is starting to stand up and perform as a team. Harry King led the way with three tries with John Sym-ington, Darcy Gilchrist and Jed Ambrose all crossing for doubles. Harry Mulligan crossed for a try and kicked eight conversions, while C/C Lachlan Strong used his authority and also kicked a couple of conversions. Harry King received the three points while hard working props Michael Parfitt and Max Gordon received the two and one points both making plenty of meters and putting the Sharks in attacking territory. The Players Player went to John Symington who orchestrated the attack and backed up his forwards. The T-W Sharks Firsts grade side played the Hawks in a must win game for both sides with the Sharks coming away victorious 18 - 6, after a very tough encounter. The Hawks opened the scoring with the Sharks retaliating just before the break to trail 6 - 4. Three second half tries, coupled with some desperate defence got the Sharks over the line and one step closer to a semi-final spot. Best for the Sharks and Players Player was young gun Lachlan Bell who made plenty of quality runs and tackled strongly, the two points went to Ryan McDonald who ran strongly and and shutdown the Hawks attack while the one point was shared between Bayley Faull and Aaiden Wright who both got through plenty of work. With six teams vying for three semi-final spots we have an interesting month of football ahead. We wish to thank the following sponsors and hope you give them your support: Major Sponsors : TERRIGAL HOTEL, Dynamic Taxation and Training Services,

Eagles News Today marks Shane McFadden’s 200th first grade game for Erina. Great achievement from an absolute legend. Regardless of the result or level of any game the Hammer’s game is always the same, rip in, put his body on the line and leave everything out there on the paddock. He is well respected by all involved at the Eagles for not only his footballing feats but also the dedicated and extremely humble family man he is away from the game. You are an inspiration to many Shane. Best of luck today.PRESENTATION NIGHT - save the date - Friday 12 October.Polo shirts, hoodies and tracksuit pants (limited sizes) are available for purchase from the hot dog stand at home games.Last weekend was not a great day for the club travelling to Wyong. But the positive of the day was the under 19s beating competition leaders with the help of some under 17s players who backed up. Terrific club and 17s players, staff and parents for these guys backing up. Well done to everyone from the 19s on a good game and win.First grade – the first 15 minutes was good football by Erina but then they allowed Wyong to take control of the game. Very big difference to the last time the two sides met. Tim Burrell was outstanding all game picking up players player and 3 points, Benny 2 points and 1 point to Mitchell & Lewie. Best wishes for a quick recovery to Blake from Wyong.Open grade – our Open Grade’s undefeated season came to an abrupt halt on Sunday against 2nd placed Wyong, going down 24-16. Coach May said it was good to get that monkey off our back, with any of the top 5 sides capable of taking out this year’s comp! The Roo’s have moved into Premiership favouritism after their strong performance. Best for the Eagles was Robbie “The Zip Zip Man“ Smith, who was a constant headache for the Wyong defence and young Luke Goodley, who has gotta be one of the most improved players in the club. The usual suspects, Oakesy, The Redhead, Fraz and Jase were the pick of the rest.Under 19s – the Under 19’s were victorious in their top of table clash against Wyong. In a game where the lead changed on numerous occasions Erina held on to win 26-22. A great team effort with special mention to three under 17 players who backed up for this game, Darby, Jye and Julius. Try scorers Spider 2, Belly, Jesse and Finny one try each, with three goals to Brayden. Players player to Darby for an outstanding game and topping the tackle count.Ladies league tag – we took on Wyong and after last week’s loss were looking to bounce back to winning form. We are down on troops at the moment but still have a capable side on the field. We started well and scored the first try before Wyong hit back with a try and goal to lead 6-4 at the break. Our girls started the second half poorly with some dropped ball and Wyong capitalised and scored two more tries and eventually Erina went down 16-4. The girls are trying hard to turn our form slump around and I am sure we will succeed if we keep working hard. Best for us in a good team effort were Jade Harkin who worked tirelessly all game. Emily Campbell lead by example and Emily Haines who was strong at fullback. For Wyong Olivia Glanville was good all day, Sarah Dimech was busy in attack and Olivia Kerrick played well. On a sadder note the club would like to send out there heartfelt sympathies to the Lammi families with the passing of George Lammi, George was the brother of Aarre Lammi one of our squad of the century members with George playing at our club thru the 1950’s & 1960’s, he also participated in the 1962 Grand final in which the Woy Woy club won its first premiership under the guidance of Eric Rowlands, he was also a gifted cricketer who played against Great Britain, we wish the Lammi family all the very best. The Ourimbah Wyoming Magpies are pleased to announce the following events listed below;· Sportsman’s Luncheon on Friday 17th August @ Tall Timbers Hotel, a huge line up of guest speakers including James Maloney, Jamie Pittman, Noel Crusher Cleal & Johnny Lewis, special guest Eloise Sohier from Foxsports & Michael Beuttner our MC’s for the evening, Tickets $120 each or tables of 8 for $800 & can be purchased from either Mick Trembath 0408 863 663, Shell Robertson 0423 002 270 or Glenn Pudsey 0408 437 988. Duncan Excavations Reserve Grade Team Report - The Ourimbah Magpies 2nd grade side probably had as many opportunities as Nth Lakes but the Warriors de-fence proved far superior. If we are to compete with the stronger opposition we need to make the important tackles and far less mistakes. Points this week went to Ethan Williams, Wes Black, Jason Overton and Brent Radburn picked up 3 points and players player.Anytime Fitness Wyoming Ladies League Tag Team Report - The Ourimbah Mag-pies Ladies team, what an amazing feeling. The girls finally put it all together and come away with a great victory over North Lakes. We defended well early and then scored a couple of try’s. Our sharp shooter Aliyah kicking 4/4. They were all stand outs could not be prouder as a coach for these girls who week in and out give me 100%. Let’s finish the year strong girls. Up the Magpies. Everyone is welcome to attend our after match presentations to be held at the Tall Timbers Hotel @ Ourimbah from 5pm with refreshments and excellent meals avail-able, so please bring your families and all kids are more than welcome to attend.

Hawks News Coming into the finals and seeing them in our sites after the week before we needed a win against Terrigal. Through the whole game the boys showed a lot of courage and determination, we really put it to the defending pre-miers with some costly errors resulting in another loss and making it hard for ourselves to get to the finals. The Hawkies won’t die that easy with a tough game this week against Ourimbah away we must turn up with the right mind set and really concentrate on our ball security. 1 point went to Kallin Adams, 2 points went to Connor O’Bierne, 3 points went to Jakob Giles. Player’s player also went to Connor O’Bierne who has been a stand out for the last few weeks. Hope to see you all at Ourimbah, and we appreciate all the support not only from the Toukley fans but also the volunteers. This club wouldn’t be the great club it is with out you guys so thank you.

Reserve grade had a tough day at the office against a strong Terrigal side. Best for Hawks were Ted Adams, Ethan Sant and Trent Sunderland. We will be looking for a better performance against Ourimbah this week. What a massive effort, finally starting with a decent squad this week and only having to use four Under 19’s to back up, the pressure was on Terri-gal to earn the win. After being down at the break and the loss of Captain Brad Gasson and half back Kraig (Calvin) Klein in the first half the boys really had to dig deep and nearly came away with the victory, in saying that well done Terrigal and good luck with the remaining games, to my boys rip in against St Eddies.

The Poppi Concreting U/19’s played against Terrigal last weekend and in patches played some good football. Some very soft defence and lazi-ness resulted in the Sharks scoring some pretty easy tries. We lost a few players with injury which meant we had to change the team several times which did not help. Anyway, the boys continue to turn up and try so I hope they get a result soon. Best for the Hawks were Jye Tudehope (also Players Player), Kiran Page & Brodie Creaser with several other players also earning a mention. Thanks again to our sponsors; Poppi Concreting, Redmen Fire Protection & Bruce The Plumber for your ongoing support.

This week the hawk’s ladies came up against the gun Terrigal side and we were outclassed by a very good team. It was a tough day for the girls but our best players were Tegan, Kaelah and Gee and Gee was players player again.

Bears News Match Report We came away with a win after our most physical game of the season. Northern Lakes were very strong across the park and made the boys work for the 2 points. St Edwards 16 Northern Lakes 10.3 Points went to Dale who directed the play well from fullback. 2 Points and Players Player went to Matty who topped the tack-le count and was at this best from dummy half. 1 point was shared with Mr Consistent Hally who made metres up the mid-dle and Kurtis who also received Coaches Award who matched thephysicality of the big boys from Northern Lakes.Congratulations to Ricky and the girls from Ourimbah Ladies Tag who notched up their first win of the Season.

Storm News Coming off a couple of fifty point shellackings at the hands of the verdant cousins, Wyong & Northern Lakes, last weekends ‘bye’ provided us with some welcome respite. While most of the boys caught up on a bit of R&R (reports suggest our barnstorming three-quarter Brennan Lacey was busy making his first grade debut for Berka) your trusty correspondent headed down to the Peninsula to run his eye over today’s opponents, Woy Woy. On a beauti-ful mid-winter’s Sunday, the chooks flew out of the coop before cock-a-doodle-dooing their way home to put a score on The Entrance. It must be said however that apart from their size, power, speed, skill, and fierce determination to succeed … they dead set had nothing. I tip Gosford by a point. (- The Eye -).

ISP CUP ROOS NEWS

9.

Wyong faced the toughest road trip on the calendar in Round 20; NZ Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium. The bus left Roos HQ at 7.30am Fri-day for an early morning video and training session at Moore Park with Sydney Roosters. Overnight at the Airport Pullman and a 7.10am Saturday flight to NZ. Lunch upon arrival, then an afternoon captain’s run followed by dinner and a team meet-ing. Leave for the Stadium at 11.15am Sunday (NZ time). Kick off 1.45pm. Fulltime 3.15pm. Bus departs for airport at 3.45pm. Flight departs 6.55pm and arrives Sydney 8.35pm. Bus back to Wyong Leagues. The first half was plagued by dropped ball forcing the visitors to dig deep and defend multiple sets inside their own half. Even-tually Wyong rectified the problem and produced some strong attack. Josh Curran (23rd min) and Paul Momirovski (35th min) crossed for Wyong in the first half. The Roos took a 12-0 lead into the break. Curran grabbed his second in the 44th minute, punching between defenders off another Sean O’Sullivan pass. Frank-Paul Nu’uasala and Sitili Tupouniua completed the Wyong try scorers list. Mitch Cornish converted two tries. O’Sullivan con-verted two as well as kicking a penalty goal (74th min). The com-binations are starting to gel and with some troops returning from NRL commitments, the green and gold have a great opportunity to consolidate on the run into the finals. The 30-6 win elevated the Roos into 8th position. Wyong meet St George at Allianz Stadium on 29 July in a curtain raiser to the big NRL clash between Sydney Roosters and the Dragons. The Roos are aiming for three victories on the trot. Kick off is at 1.55pm.

LADIES LEAGUE TAG NEWSIn a close game last weekend Kincumber managed to beat Ber-keley Vale 12-6 with Ranni Jackson yet again being a standout player. Well done to Ourimbah on getting a win against Northern Lakes. The Entrance were too good for Woy Woy and Kristin Kessler was very strong in the halves for the Tigers. The Sharks continued their great performance beating Toukley while Wyong put on a performance against a deflated Eagles side winning 16-4. The last few rounds will be a battle for the minor premiership between Terrigal and The Entrance and Erina and Wyong will fight for third.

1st Grade Vs Kincumber - Proudly Sponsored by Toowoon Bay Carpets & Shutters What an outstanding win to be a part of...one of the best in my time as manager to see our team depleted of numbers through injuries and suspension but to win that game in front of our loyal sponsors, com-mittee and supporters was a bloody joy to watch. Five guys promoted from and backing up from Reggie’s (much to their managers disgust) and also Brennon from our GK third grade team not only playing reggies for us but to back up and jump on the wing...great stuff mate...that was some club spirit right there!!! THANKS TO CHRIS BRADY, MATT BAILEY, LUKE ROBINSON, JEFFY FIELDS, LIAM SCOTT AND BRENNON LACEY...bank that one fel-las!!!!On a great afternoon for footy and our Sponsors day to boot, the lads put on some real good footy with the ball, but it was our defensive effort that was inspiring. Massive games by the Old Guard Tutaki, Lyons and Moore, outstanding fellas with Stevey L picking up players player and T-bag getting the 3 points...sorry Albert you got nothing but a sneaky 4 pointer, still got it old mate!!! Two points went the ever-consistent Dylan Smith in the middle, great game mate and congrats from our entire club on making the Australian Police Rugby League team...well done mate!!! We had to award two 1 pointers to our live wire pair in JJ and little Dan Murphy who both caused all sorts of dramas for the Colts defence, we deadset could have given points to anyone with the effort that was put in across the board with a heap of guys playing out of posi-tion it was just a great win. It would be remiss of me not to mention a few of the performances from the hill with a real feel of nostalgia happening up there with a race to the finish on who dribbled the most rubbish it was declared that D Lyons won by a nose from two blokes who will remain un-named that claimed to orchestra the first-grade win (FFGMAHM). Last but not least the emotion showed by our club president Boofy on Sunday night was awesome, thanks to you and the rest of the hard-working committee for supporting us...PROUD TO BE A PANTHER!!! Cheers...JohnoReserve Grade v Kincumber – Proudly sponsored by Berkeley Vale CellarsWhat an inspired effort by our gallant team of spirited ‘Berka Boys’ ably sup-ported by our Kariong brothers. We played out hearts out with only the barest of numbers, playing the whole second half with only 14 players, one of who was running on one leg (Chucky Van Beveren). Every man out there was de-serving of points with Matt Bailey receiving the 3, Brennan Lacey from Kariong the 2, and Waylon the 1. Chris Brady was as nimble as a one-legged sloth at half back. James Weldon, Chris Brady, Matthew Bailey, Luke Robinson and Brennan Lacey all played 2-games (Reserves and 1st) and were instrumental in a truly inspired win over the Colts with their 1st grade mates. This was a truly memorable day both on and off the field and the whole club is extremely proud of your efforts. After a day like that it is very evident the Berka spirit is alive and well in the hands of a group of men who truly want to play for the club. Thanks to all the players, supporters, coaches sponsors, first-aiders, and trainers; and most of all thanks to a truly magnificent committee.League Tag Vs Kincumber – Proudly sponsored by Bruce Fulmer Building. The girls played well against Kincumber being very competitive for the entire match. Good luck to James & The Colts for the rest of the season. Our girls started the mornings games with the first try, which is a rare treat for us going to Breah and Sharni kicked the goal from out wide. We had other opportunities but just fell short. Players Player went to Orana and Breah, Points to Breah, Orana, Sharni and Tara. Overall a good effort from the girls. Remember the sportsmanship you display goes towards your character and our team, re-spect the opposition, and play our game.

Berkeley Vale Rugby League & Sports Club would like to thank our Sponsors, for their continued generous support of our great club.

Roosters News Woy Woy RLFC Round 15 Report The Roosters travel to Berkeley Vale to take on the Panthers in the Round 9 washed out weekend game. Thanks to all the Roosters supporters that have turned up on the brisk morning and to the Berkeley Vale Club for hosting us today. Some mixed results from last week against The Entrance and although we only got the points in the Opens all grades played well and did the club proud. We are hoping to turn some of those results around today and are confident in all grades. Some great news on Thursday with young Rooster Bradman Best being named in the Australian School Boys team. A huge congratulation to Bradman from all at the Roosters on your achievements, all involved at Woy Woy are so happy and proud on Bradman’s selection and wish him nothing but the best (no pun intended). A champion young man from a lovely family who has worked hard over the last couple of seasons with injuries; fantastic to see.Our B&J Asphalting Ladies League Tag came out of the blocks on fire against equal leaders The Entrance with Rhiannon Hall crossing and converting the opening try of the game. The Entrance ladies responded in quick fashion and although our girls continued to play some good footy and never gave they couldn’t go with them. The girls should bounce back today and give the Panthers a run for the money. The Woy Woy Leagues Opens team up against a Tigers team sitting just ahead of them on the table we on song and blew the opposition off the park running out win-ners 34-4. Orisi Ranavue had a blinder and crossed for 3 tries, big Jack Fletcher got one as did TJ McLean and Josh Pitscheider with Simon Nipsalla plotting 4 goals.Like the Opens the S&M Contracting 2nd Grade were up against The Tigers sit-ting ahead of them, it was a must win game for us but we just weren’t up to it on the day. All the boys played well it was just a couple of silly errors and some poor execution that saw us pipped 20-14. We can still make the semis if me win the rest of our gams and other results go our way and are capable of beating any opposi-tion. Mitch Davidson, TJ and Daniel Payne scored a try a piece with Jarryd Hayne kicking 1 goal. The Versatile Homes 1st grade team had notched two wins on the trot and knew they had their work cut out for them to make it 3 facing a rampant Tigers team that had just put Wyong to the sword the previous week. Poor starts are more regular then Brett Sonter training on a Tuesday night unfortunately and a clinical Tigers team had put on 10 points within the first 10 minutes. The boys kept their composure and managed to cross twice through a strong Zane Rickit carry and a ridiculous pass from Hyde that saw Matt Jones waltz through a hole and grab a try. Both teams settled in for a bit of an arm wrestle before the Entrance scored another to take a 16-12 lead. Rhys Ryan steamed onto a nice ball from Scott Gowans and he managed to get across the stripe to find another try for the Roosters and with a Hyde conversion, we went into the break up 18-16 and full of confidence. The boys bounced out to the 2nd half full of beans but after miscuing a grubber and watching it trickle over the deadball line, Little Grant Nelson shot off, nailed the quick tap and he was gone before we could regroup. Toby Marks, Scott Gowans & Guy Pearson managed to reel him in but it was all to no avail as the Tigers managed to score in the ensuing tackles. Kicking out on the full from the kick off gifted them field position and ultimately more tries. We had barely touched the ball to start the half and before you knew it they had raced out to a 30-18 scoreline. If we could manage to get some consistent ball we could do some damage and that’s what happened when Blake Mattay (thanks BarTV man) sold a nice dummy, darted through a gap and found his partner in crime Gowans who touched down under the sticks to bring the game with 6 points with about 8mins remaining. We were trying to build some momentum and had made some good yards com-ing out of trouble before Big Brett Sonter got in a stink which landed both him and Jimmy Walsh in the bin for the remainder of the game. A man down, we dug deep and did our best and with some enterprising play, we looked like we might manage a try at the death and Justin McDermott provided just that, albeit a try for the op-position after throwing an intercept. The one that got away. The Tigers made very few mistakes and we need to lift our discipline if we want to win this comp. 1 point went to Scott Gowans who bagged a try and set up another, 2 points to Rhys Ryan who was happy to do the hard yards as well as put his hand up for a try and 3 points and players player was Brodie Finnigan who got through a mountain of work, all quality, and leads by his actions. We can take some confidence out of that game as we look to take on a Berkley Vale team boasting some fantastic players. The finals are around the corner and the final 3 spots are still well and truly up for grabs so we look forward to the challenge over the next 4 weeks.Report filed by grandstand cadet reporter – M.FawcettUp the Roosters

Colts News Good results for the Tag girls which has us in the top 5 currently and with a good win to Reserve grade also back in the top 5 gives the Colts a chance for all our grades to make the final series. 1st grade will look to improve against the competition leaders after a fairly ordinary display last week. Good luck to all our sides in a tough day of footy. So all the best to all Colts teams today and thank you to all our supporters and sponsors who travel each week to see us go around no matter where we are.Sydney Markets Reserve GradeThe Sydney Markets Limited 2nd grade went back to back wins with a solid 46-12 win over Berkeley Vale away.Jake Hardman was outstanding & played his best game of the year & deservedly picked up the (3) points.(2) points was shared again by our halves in Mitch Clark & Kyle Laing, both had outstanding games & guided the boys around the park all game.(1) point was also shared between our hooker Karl Reeves & fullback Jaxon Stubbs....both had busy games and deserved a mention. Off to The Entrance this week were it doesnt get any easier but I am sure the boys will be up for the fight Sidelines Sports & Grill 19’sHard to believe that the Toukley side wasn’t in the top 5, they completed at 90% in the 1st half and had a fantastic kicking game, keeping us pined on our own line for most of the game. However, we did enough to stay with them and when the mis-takes finally came in the last 15mins we were able to take advantage of it.Great games by everyone but special mention again to all our 17s backing up. Points last week went to Jakob Keane 1 Point and 2 x 3 Points were awarded last week to Fletcher Berry and Josh Starling. Players Player went to Ryan Shaw.G & W Hydraulics Ladies League TagCongratulations to Ranni on her 70th and Millie for her 50th senior game. The girls started well with a few repeat sets on Berkley Vales line but the defence with stood our attack, the momentum swung with Berkley scoring the 1st try, but our girls defence held strong forcing them to take penalty goals. We bounced back with quick ball movement for Ella to score . With a big pump up talk from Taylor Bateman at half time the team started where we left off. We worked the ball well up field with great runs from Eb Harris, Brooke and Millie , but couldn’t capitalize until later in the half when Ella got her second try. In the dying minutes young Lily scored a great try in the corner after again great ball movement. Well done to all the girls. Players player- Lily3pts- Ebony 2pts- Millee and Brooke 1pt- Ella and Jess. M

Tigers News The Central Coast Cleaning Contractors First Grade Tigers travelled to Woy Woy oval to take on a side who have been rolling along quite well and therefore sitting in third place on the ladder. They are always a difficult opposition when playing at home and showed good character all game. The first half was a bit of a seesawing affair with both sides scoring three tries but we went into the break, down 18-16. Woy Woy showed that they were happy to throw the footy around and try some unconventional stuff but with good energy they got some rewards from it. It seemed that field position was the order of the day though as when each team found themselves in good areas they were able to put pressure on the opposition defence and in most cases score points. Fortunately for us it was the Tigers who got the better of that area in the second stanza and put on a further four tries to take the score out to 36-18. Woy Woy again wouldn’t lie down and scored another try before the end of the game to make the final score Tigers 36 Roosters 24.The GTL Rapid Clean Reserve Grade Tigers looked to continue their good form against Woy Woy Roosters. A flat warm up had coaching staff concerned as the Tigers ran out to take on the Roosters. Possible complacency was probably in-creased with the Tigers opening the game with two tries inside 10 minutes. The Tigers then went away from the plan and failed to win the middle before spreading the ball and Woy Woy forced their way back into the match with the scores locked at 10 all at the half time break. The second half was a real arm wrestle. The Tigers had to be patient and trust their game plan, they were able to do that and secured a 20-14 victory. The team were disappointed with their performance and will look to improve in the coming weeks. The MJM Kitchens & Stone Open Age Tigers were away to Woy Woy, were we got off to a shocking start by giving away possession in the first set which Woy Woy took full advantage of, then consecutive penalties got the better of us again, go-ing into halftime 14-4 down. The second half we have away too much possession which led to them coming away with the win. Our best we’re Clarky, Azza , Blacky, an Jake Slee. The Coca Cola Amatil Under 19 Tigers travelled all the way to Woy Woy, but un-fortunately our opposition didn’t and we won on a forfeit, a great shame that we couldn’t get a match. Congratulations go to Kyle McCudden and Jake Slee for their promotions to Reserves and Opens respectively and thanks to all the other players who volunteered to play up a grade. Further accolades to First Grade, Reserves and Ladies for their victories and commiserations to Open Age.The Pallister Promotions Ladies League Tag Tigers continued their good form into the end of the season with a 48-6 win over Woy Woy. After conceding a well-con-structed team try, finished off by Rhiannon Hall, the Tigers found themselves with a 6-0 deficit. After kicking into gear, The Entrance laid on an unanswered 48 points. Whilst the Tigers were strong across the park, special mention to Kristen Kessler, Bree Dawson, Erin Kessler and Stephanie Sharp who all featured in the players points.
