Design

To design a process for working on the project

Create a WORK FLOW, basically how I work on this task.

How should I work on the task productively?

Break down big tasks into smaller, simpler ones, part by part.

Individual Project Group Project

Rank tasks in order.

Content over design.Distribute tasks among members.

Page 4: The Design Cycle by Keff Ng

Plan

To plan out the logistics of the project

Create a timetable. How long will it take to complete the project?

Make a script, find the necessary materials, or do other tasks needed to reach the GOAL.

Page 5: The Design Cycle by Keff Ng

Create

Actual making of the project

DO the project.

Stick to the timetable

Set deadlines for each task

Follow the schedule, stick to the deadlines

Take a break if necessary

Page 6: The Design Cycle by Keff Ng

Evaluate

Review content to see if there is room for improvement.

Did the final product achieve the main goal?

Is it up to the Standards and Rubrics?

Ask for an honest opinion and ask for suggestions to make it better.

What went well? What could have been done to make it better?

Example: Mythbusters Video

Our group decided that

the Pop Rocks-Coke myth was the most viable

option. We immediately

began further research on this topic, searching

for articles, videos and pictures.

Investigate

Example: Mythbusters Video

We drafted on the script and put our initial ideas there.

We also discussed about the dialogue, subtitles,

materials, needed, etc.

PlanWe created the timetable and final script for

which we agreed to

follow. We also bought the

required materials.

Example: Mythbusters Video

CreateOur group shot the video in school based on the A/V script. Afterwards, I began putting up the clips

needed for the video and sorted them out in order. I also put subtitles, transitions, music, etc.

After I finished making the video, I published it on Youtube and then

sent the link to the teacher.

Example: Mythbusters VideoEvaluate

We had a session in Computer class that let

other groups evaluate our video. They had to

answer the questions “What went well?” “What could have been done to

make it better?” This way, we can still improve

on our video, if necessary.

If you follow all 5 steps, you can easily attain an A+.
