able to view your child’s grades.

Grading ScaleP 97%S+ 92%S 86%S- 82%N 76%U 0%*Sometimes I give an I which indicates improving.

Grades are an indicator of your child’s work, but they are only a small part of the entire picture. We want our children to do their best and make good progress.

V. I. P.Very Important Person

Please send 6-8 pictures that tell about your child.

Your child may bring something for Show and Tell on his/her V.I.P. day

I will give you a couple weeks notice before your child’s turn. I pull sticks to determine who has the next turn.

Birthdays Children may bring treats, but it is not

necessary. Some children have chosen to donate a book to

the library, instead of bringing treats. We plan to pass out treats when it works into

our schedule – usually near the end of the day.

Let me know if your child has any food allergies

Water BottlesChildren may bring water

bottles when it is hot.

Water bottles should only contain unflavored water

Boots and Coats

All children must wear a jacket or coat if the temperature is below 60 degrees.

Children must wear either boots or old shoes if it rains.

(We have a nice cement area and woodchip area, but if it rains, even those wet areas require boots.)

MedicationsIf your child needs medication

from home to be given at school, please bring it to the office.

We need written permission to administer medicine as needed.

Children may not keep medication in their backpacks or desks.

HomeworkReading log – 90 minutesReturn the reading log each Monday

(Note sample reading log at end of packet)Spelling test on Friday.

Please review words as needed. A homework sheet will go home each Monday. Students should return this sheet by Friday.

Review weekly memory work.

During the first week I will do some testing. After doing testing, I may have different students do different lists.

Scripture Memory WorkTypically we have a new memory verse each

week.At times we learn a psalm or longer passages.I will usually test the students on Wednesday.

Sometimes I listen to them recite the passage.Sometimes they “fill in the blanks”.Students should learn the reference as well.

Learning Scripture is more than homework, but it is an opportunity to “hide God’s Word” in their hearts. God’s Word is such a precious gift!
