Faculty feedback “Overall, I am satisfied with the learning

experience I gave my distance students in this course.” All strongly agreed with the statement

“Given my experience in this pilot, I would be willing to teach another distance learning course at UNH.” All answered “Yes”

Faculty feedback “Was a great experience for me and the

students. Students remarked that they would not have been able to take the course in person, and that the online version worked well for them. I feel that the online students did learn the material.”

“I was able to reach a much larger audience using distance learning and the students seemed to handle it as well as with the traditional approach. Grade distributions were similar on all the assessment items, and feedback was positive.”

11

Student feedback Positive about their experience

96% -- their experience was positive or very positive

78% -- would register for another distance learning course at UNH (16% weren’t sure)

Student feedback Liked the flexibility and control

“I liked the format, and I like the flexibility online learning provides.  Best of all, I don't feel like I learned less because it was online.”

“I liked being more independent and knowing that I had to keep myself on a schedule. I also felt that taking the class online allowed me to fit it in when it was convenient.”

13

eLearning

Student feedback “I think distance learning takes away the

personal level of teaching but at the same time for people like me who are shy, distance learning allows you to communicate with your professor at a comfortable level.”

“Distance learning is convenient for summer classes when I am home working but I would prefer to have a face to face relationship with the teacher and I find it easier to learn and pay attention when I am in a real class.”

14

eLearning

Student feedback “While I really enjoyed the online class and it

worked perfectly into my schedule, I still prefer to be in-class because I learn better by interacting with other students and asking the professor questions in person…”

“The distance learning was great because I could make it work around my work schedule, however making the time for the class and being sure to sit and watch each lecture was difficult especially when you could not always ask questions and participate in class”
