Welcome to the first of our new termly PTFA newsletters. The purpose of
these newsletters is to keep you informed and up to date with all the
activities run by and for the PTFA.
We are excited to start a new chapter in St Eanswythe’s PTFA’s long and
successful history, and look forward to carrying on the traditions of helping
our children enjoy the benefits of the best possible opportunities both in and
outside of school.
We give huge thanks to the outgoing Chair, Tracy O’Conner as well as to
Amy Glover and the band of committed helpers who have worked so hard
this past year in particular to keep up all of the vital fund raising efforts for
our PTFA. We are so grateful to each and every person who gave up their
time, donated prizes, sold raffle tickets, supervised events and came along
to fairs and coffee mornings. Without the parents there is no PTFA so your
contributions and support really cannot be underestimated.
As well as our four new Board members we have been delighted to see so
many new faces at the most recent meetings. Everyone who wishes to be
part of the larger PTFA committee is very welcome. We appreciate that
due to work and childrcare commitments etc not everyone who wishes to
attend always can so we want to assure those people that attending every
meeting is by no means a requirement for being an active member of our
committee.
In Term Four alone, your generous support of PTFA events has
raised a fantastic £1300 profit. This money will go directly to benefit
all of our children. Thank you SO much!

PTFA EVENTS ROUND UP!
What has been happening in Term four?
QUIZ NIGHT
Huge thanks to all of your who braved a very wet
and windy Friday night to come along to our Quiz!
Mr Brinkley was a fantastic Quiz Master and
tested our knowledge on everything from
Geography to TV Adverts. It was great to see so
many teams enjoying themselves and entering into
the spirit of things.
Staff and parents alike competed to be crowned
St Eanswythe’s Quiz Champions (and to avoid the
bag of lemons reserved for the losers…) and
judging by the laughter all evening, everyone
enjoyed the challenge.
Well done to ‘The Crystal Methodists’ for
emerging victorious – we look forward to seeing
you defend your title soon!
Quiz nights and other ‘adults only’ evening events
are such a great way to get to know other parents
in your child’s class and beyond and we are so
pleased that the community spirit is so strong
during events like this.
‘The Crystal Methodists’ celebrating their Quiz Night Win (to the rear)
and the rest of the fantastic quizzers. Thanks to all who came along to
such a fun night!
THE GREATEST
SHOWMAN
It was so exciting to see the hall fill up with
over 130 children, anticipating the ‘Sing-a-Long-
A-Greatest Showman’. The children were in fine
voice as they joined in the popular songs ‘ Come
Alive’ & ‘ Eyes Wide Open’ – which saw children
dancing in the aisles! A powerful rendition of
‘This is Me’ was a real highlight as of course was
‘The Greatest Show’ finale. What a talented
bunch they are!
We had some fantastic parent volunteer helpers
on the day who made sure the children were all
happy and fully stocked up on snacks and drinks.
Thank you SO much to each and every parent
who gave up their time to support us for this
event (and you were brilliant at singing along
with Mr Hugh Jackman too!)
Mad March Hair Day! What an amazing sight greeted the teachers at the
gates on the morning of Mad Hair Day; so much
effort had gone into so many wacky hair styles, it was
hard to recognise some children! It was such a fun
day- thank you to all of the children & parents who
made such an effort and generously donated to join
in.
THE FINALE OF THE GREATEST
SHOWMAN- CHILDREN IN FINE VOICE!
Tag Day & End of Term 4
Discos
It was delightful to see the children all in
their own clothes for the day. The after
school discos were very well attended and it
was such fun to see the children letting their
hair down after working hard all term – and
who knew that KS2 could limbo so low?!
Thank you to all of the volunteer helpers who
kindly gave up their time to supervise the
discos. And special thanks to Oakley and
Sam, two members of our St Easnwythe’s
Alumni who were fantastic DJs!
Easter Fair
It was lovely to see so many people at our inaugural
Easter Fair.
After a beautiful Easter service in our church, lots
of you took the opportunity to pop to the hall and
enjoy a cup of tea and a cake.
The children enjoyed joining in fun traditional
games including ‘Guess the Name of the Bunny’ and
‘How Many Sweets in the Jar’ as well as taking
their time to create some Easter decorations in
the ‘Craft Zone’ while parents and grandparents
enjoyed the wonderful selection of cakes and
treats on offer.
Thank you to everyone who made the effort to
decorate an egg, donate a cake, run a stall, help set
up/clear up and everyone who came along to make
this event a success- we will certainly have an
Easter Fair again next year!
Easter Egg Decoration Winners The Easter Egg decorating
competion saw nearly 100 chilldren
proudly display a thoughtfully
decorated egg, and prizes were
given to the two best creations in
each class, as judged anonymously
by our SLT.

Joining the Group does
NOT allow others to see
your full profile unless you
are already friends with
them. Please invite any
parents/ carers you know
to join us.
This page is used to update
everyone about PTFA
events and, can also be
used to communicate with
other parents about other
matters regading school
life such as trips, letters,
clubs, lost property ,
homework etc.
Many classes also have
their own Class Page for
the parents to communicate
with each other.
There are Class Representatives that are the
official PTFA contact for all parents in that
class.
We are pleased to outline their roles and

The role of PTFA Class Representative is to be
the first point of contact for information
regarding upcoming PTFA events.
They are the ones who you can directly volunteer
your support to when it comes to helping out at
fairs and various other events, and they too can
bring up any concern or point you wish to raise
at a PTFA meeting should you not be able to
attend in person.
Most classes each have a dedicated class
Facebook page on which you can communicate
directly with the class rep and all other parents
who have joined.
The PTFA relies on the generous
spirit of its members – which are all
of the parents, carers and extended
family members as well as the staff
of St Eanswythe’s School. Supporting
events such as end of term discos,
tag days and Seasonal Fairs is so
important and always hugely
appreciated since it ensures we can
raise funds for all manner of things
that directly benefit our children.
Another vital form of support is the
giving of your time. An hour to help
run a stall at a fair, an hour to help
supervise a school disco, an evening
having a glass or two of wine while
competing in a Quiz Night, all make a
real difference to what we can
achieve together for our children.
PTFA Meetings are attended by
Board Members, Class Reps. when
possible and everyone else who wishes
to come along, it really is that
inclusive! The minutes of each
meeting are posted on the school
PTFA link page and you are welcome
to speak to your Class Rep. if you
have any questions.
We have a wide range of knowledge
and expertise amongst our parent &
carer community and it is so useful to
be able to pool these resources for
the benefit of all the children of St
Eanswythe’s School. Times and
venues vary in order to offer as much
flexibility to those wishing to attend.
