and congratulations to Beau who will now run at

resign from his position. We wish Mr Prebendarcik
all the best in his future endeavours. I have been in
touch with staffing and will have more information
regarding the filling of the permanent position
shortly.

the debutante ball on the weekend. What a fantastic
display of our fantastic town, school and students.
Principal

P&C NEWS
Tullamore P&C Debutante Ball – Well what a night
of fantastic dancing and entertainment! This Ball
had been a long time coming and was well worth
the 16 year wait!
Thank you to our 10 beautiful, young ladies and
their families for making their debut, we could not
have held such a ball without you. The girls showed
poise, elegance and grace, and the young gentlemen
accompanied them with such maturity.
Many people helped with the organisation and
running of the Ball, so thank you to each and
everyone of you – you know who you are.
I would just like to once again mention Alan Flavel
and Dave Lewis, who showed much dedication and
community spirit in co-ordinating the Ball. This is a
mammoth task and we appreciated you volunteering
your time to helping the P&C run this successful
event. We are so glad that Dave won the raffle, as
you both really deserve that Big 4 holiday!
Thank you to everyone who came to the Ball,
bought raffle tickets, and placed a bid on the silent
auction. You helped the P&C to raise an astonishing
$12,500, which is remarkable given the
circumstances of drought and hardship facing our
community.
The prizes for the night were as follows:
Lucky Door:
1. Rodan & Fields gift voucher – Dianne Darcy
2. Flannery’s Pharmacy gift basket – Alan
Larkings
3. Zumba Affleck – Ebony Watson
4. Slow Wine Co. – Aimee Stonham
Raffle Prizes:
1. Big 4 Narooma East Holiday Park Holidays
– 1st Dave Lewis, 2nd Ron Kal
2. MooGoo Skincare Package – Claire

3. Chamen’s IGA Voucher – Don Fidock
4. Celeste Barber Signed Book – Deb Walker

Science
We have been learning about
materials and their properties; in
particular have been working on
materials and their best-suited
purpose.
I suggested students talk to their parents about
viewing The Flintstones cartoon and noting the
materials used for different purposes in the cartoon.
We will then discuss this and compare to materials
and their purpose now.

History
Over the next couple of weeks, the class is studying
the history of our school. If you attended Tullamore
Central and have any photos or historical
information you could share with your children at
home it would be great. We have many maps,
photos and books to look at and learn from, but we
would love to hear your stories and information if
you are able to share with us.
Have a wonderful week

SECONDARY NEWS
Last weekend I had the great pleasure of presenting
some of our senior students as part of the debutante
ball. Congratulations to our wonderful students who
have showed commitment and effort in learning all
of the dances for the ball, you should be very proud
of your efforts. The last few weeks of school are
shaping up to be very busy. Students are reminded
to bring in notes for the various sporting and
excursion events that are coming up.
Uniform and Caps
Students are reminded that caps are not part of
uniform and should not be worn at school.
Tullamore Central School is a sun safe school and
the requirements are students wear the school broad
brimmed hats. Students will be asked to remove
caps and put them in their bags. Now that the
weather is getting colder, please ensure that students
have the correct uniform jumpers. If students need
new ones they can be purchased from the front
office. Please see our staff for sizing.
VET Work placement Pre-Placement Paperwork
Year 11 students who study VET subjects who were
issued with pre-placement paperwork and have not
returned it need to do so as soon as possible. This is
to ensure that you have a placement ready for Term
3. Students who are going on placement this term
will receive confirmation of your placement in the
next few weeks. If you have not already done so,
ensure that you have completed the
go2workplacement activities prior to placement in
Week 6 Term 3.
Secondary Excursion
The secondary excursion has been planned and we
are off to the Gold Coast! Information and prices
will be distributed to students soon, once the totals
from fundraising and the P& C subsidy are applied
to the final cost. This excursion will occur Week 8
Term 4. This will allow students ample time to pay
off the final cost.

We will be handing out overdue notices until the

further borrowing can continue.
If you know a book has gone missing or been
