Canterbury Castle

• Canterbury Castle was one of the three original Royal castles of Kent (the other two being Rochester Castle and Dover Castle). They were all built soon after the Battle of Hastings, on the main Roman road from Dover to London.

situated at Dover, Kent and has been described as the "Key to England" due to its defensive significance throughout history.

Rochester Castle• Rochester Castle

stands on the east bank of the River Medway, in Rochester, Kent. It is one of the best-preserved castles of its kind in the UK. There has been a fortification on this site since Roman times (c AD43), though it is the keep of 1127 and the Norman castle which can be seen today.

(6.5 km) southeast of Maidstone, Kent, England, dates back to 1119, though a manor house stood on the same site from the ninth century. The castle and grounds lie to the east of the village of Leeds, Kent, which should not be confused with the far bigger and more well-known city of Leeds in West Yorkshire.

Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade I listed building at Morpeth, Northumberland, in northeast England.The original motte and bailey dating from the 11th century was destroyed about 1215. A new castle was built in the bailey of the original in the 1340s, but little of that structure survives apart from parts of the curtain wall and the much altered gatehouse.
